I need a risk assessment put in place and still havent been told about it!!!
Have you notified your work place in writing of your pregnancy? I would suggest you do if you havent already done so. They dont need to carry out a risk assessment until they have it in writing. I told my employers (verbally) at 11 weeks and I didnt get my risk assessment until 19-20 weeks which I thought was ridiculous. I was just told to stop a couple of the jobs that I was doing as it was dangerous, though I did keep doing them up until I told them which was probably very silly of me.
Definitely put it in writing though, and congratulations on your pregnancy!:j0 -
Hi everyone, can I join pretty please? I am 5 & 3 today and trying not to worry but that's a lot easier said than done! Could I ask a quick question of when your symptoms started? Thanks Chuck x0

Hi, I am 15 weeks (still like to lurk on this thread). My symptoms started at around 7 weeks then disappeared at around 9 weeks. At around 13 weeks my blood pressure went right down and I have now been signed off work for 2 weeks as I keep fainting
Everyones symptoms are different and some people wont have any at all. I know its easier said than done to not stress about it, but before my 12 week scan I drove myself mad wondering if I was 'normal'.
Try and enjoyOh and congratulations!

also i think with symptons were never pleased.
if you have morning sickness day and night you wish you didn't have any sympotns and then when you have a pregnancy with no symptons you wish you did have symptons.
i think in any stage of pregnancy , and wether it your 1st or 21st pregnancy we all like to have a bit of reasuurance that all is ok.0 -
hope this is right, eventually my little bump. lol

I wouldn't expect my manager to reply because what is going on in my personal life isn't important to him, so long as I turn up each day and do my job that's all that matters.
I need a risk assessment put in place and still havent been told about it!!! I want it put in place asap as I don't want to be put in the position where me or the baby could be harmed especially when you can't really see anything yet!!!
Don't wait for your supervisor to offer a risk assessment, tell them that you want one done.
I met with my manager on Monday to get a maternity pack, he conveniently left out the bit that the law states that pregnancy related sick time off work can't be included in your usual sick record, and can't be used in any disciplinary or redundancy procedures.
I think I'm in a similar line of work to you Debs and I asked about a risk assessment. I am often required to spend 7 1/2 hours supporting someone in the community who uses a wheelchair whose weight exceeds 18 stone. I also work with someone who has previously kicked me and other staff in the stomach. As well as someone who has mental health issues and thinks nothing of grabbing me by the hair and ragging me about, or grabbing others and I have to physically restrain him on my own in the community. My manager does not see any of this as an issue and thinks I should carry out my usual duties, and that there is no need for a risk assessment until I am 20 weeks. he also stated that he couldn't do anything until he had it in writing anyway, so 'I said I emailed you last night to inform you'.
I told him that he had better speak to Health and Safety, Human Resources and Occupational Health for advice because I would be consulting the Union.
I've spoken to the Union and they will get back to me. I'm going to email my manager tonight. I find it is best to always email in situations like this as managers have a habit of denying all knowledge of being informed, or maybe that is just my experience.
I'm hoping she'll start rotaring me on for 2 days off together aswell as i'm shattered already this week, feel like I haven' stopped!!! Plus my b00bs are so sore today aswell!!!
I know what you mean, I'm the same and hungry all the time. I didn't think I would feel like this so early on. Although saying that it is taking me ages to get to sleep and I wake up early as my mind is just in a whirl at the excitement and terror of it all :rotfl:missymoo81 wrote: »
Told OH's mum today and she sort of went into shocked mode, no where near as happy as I thought she'd be, OH said he thinks she was over the moon just in shock...... very strange, Got to go and tell OH's dad tonight, another thing I could do without doing, OH thinks he'll really happy just really shocked again, I don't really understand the shockedness though, as OH and I have been married a year, surely for a lot of couples it is the next progressive step???!!!!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Sounds like my OH's parents. We've been married 2 years and their response was 'well that's a shock'. No congratulationsI don't think they're pleased.

Hey chuck :hello:
I've not had any symptoms as such, feel tired, but can't sleep. Bo obs are sore, got crampy AF-like pains in stomach, I'm very windy, and hungry pretty much most of the time. However, my OH would say that is my norm
Other than that I've had a couple of very very brief moments where I felt queasy but they passed really quickly so I may have just been hungry, and a couple of times I've felt light headed. On Sunday I was sunbathing in a rocking chair and if I rocked I felt a bit like you do when you're really drunk and you lie on the bed and the room feels like it is spinning, only I wasn't drunkMy mouth seems to water quite a lot too, like I have a lot of saliva?
I know what you mean abut the worrying, at the back of my mind is always the little dark shadow of MC
Here's hoping we all have happy healthy pregnancies with happy healthy bubbas to show for it0 -
Aaaaah, lovely scan pic Mirrorimage0

Fingers crossed.
I have had sore nips and felt tired and been having lots of dreams. The same as last time really, so was really hoping for some morning sickness so that I felt more reassured. Is silly I know as what will be will be.
I have my scan date booked for the 27th May and I am trying to decide whether to have an early scan or not. I will have to pay for this but think its worth it for peace of mind.
Glad your pushing for your work to do a risk assessment as it certainly seems like its needed.0
