I've spent all weekend with my MIL (live with them atm but normally one or both of us is at work), and she's been going around telling me what I can and can't eat! With a fag in her hand constantly..."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

I've completely lost my sex drive - my poor OH - tho epu said to wait a couple of weeks before DTD!
I think cos I've got so much on my mind I don't feel very relaxed.0 -
My MIL doesnt know yet we are going to tell her tomorrow, get ready for tears! Have decided to just not contact my mum and if she asks how I am Im just going to say fine! really can't be dealing with it.
Oh poor you glitter, Im sure when everything settles down your mojo will soon come back x0 -

We've snuck in a few times, but mostly I'm so shattered and slightly nauseous about 22 hours of the day that sex is no so fun. Hoping that the nausea will subside in the next couple of weeks and then we can make up for lost time and go at it like bunnies.
Definitely learned to strike when the iron is hot, as it were though, as in half hour may feel gnarly again.Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win. - Jonathan Kozol0 -
Hi Ladies
Can I join please? Got my BFP on Wednesday last week, and I think it has finally sunk in. I can't stop testing everyday yet.
Wondered when you ladies went to see your GP first. I have just been to the surgery and the receptionist said that I don't need to see the GP she would book me with the midwife, but then said I have to wait a couple of weeks and then come back for them to do that. I was told that the midwife doesn't usually see you until 10-12 weeks, so it sounds like you don't see anyone until 10-12 weeks. Is this normal?
Main problem for me is I don't know how many weeks I am. I haven't had an actual real AF prior to or since stopping my pill on 5th March. I did have some light light brown bleeding/spotting Sun 6th - Wednesday 9th March (sorry TMI) but don't know if to use that to date?
I have taken loads of tests and think I was in shock to start with at it happening so soon. I am also really worried at it happening so soon, in that something may go wrong. I have read loads of horror stories on the net.
No real symptoms yet other than slightly sore b(.)(.)bs, strange feelings in lower abdomen and possibly nausea (but don't know if that is in my head).
I wish I could see someone to ask them about my concerns. Anyone else had trouble getting an appointment?Desperately trying to get debt free!0 -
I found out on a Friday and saw my doctor on Monday morning. Think I was about 5 1/2 weeks then?? I can't really remember :rotfl:
He told me to put my name in the pregnancy book which the midwife picked up on a Thursday. Thursday morning I had a phonecall and she came to my house on the Sunday. It didn't take very long for me at all but other areas are different and I know women can be waiting weeks.
If you don't know how far you are you need to push to see a midwife and probably a scan just to see where you are. There are certain tests they need to do within certain timeframes so it's really important.
Congrats on your bfp! :jWife and mother :jGrocery budget

congratulations spendaholic, I haven't seen my midwife, I wont until im 10.3 Im 8.1 now, its really frustrating. It depends on the county, most people get to see their midwives about 8 weeks ish but here they dont do it until late.0

Hi Missymoo
Thanks for you reply. Did you get to see your doctor though?
I might wait another week and then just ring for an appointment without telling them why. Do you have to tell them at the doctors why you want an appointment? Its so long since I have been to the doctors for anything, well over 2 years. The only reason I told them today was because I wasn't sure if I would need to take a urine sample.Desperately trying to get debt free!0 -
There's not much point in seeing your doctor hun. I went in, showed him my tests and I was out the door.Wife and mother :jGrocery budget

Hi Spendaholic, and congrats on your BFP :j
I got my BFP last Wednesday too and it is finally sinking in.
I went to my GPs today and he gave me a print out of what foods to avoid. I had a few questions to ask him about medication that I take, and then he gave me a number to ring to arrange to see the midwife, so I'll do that tomorrow and see what they say.
You also get a form from your GP or midwife for free prescriptions.
When you book a GP appointment you don't need to tell the receptionist what the appointment is for, it is none of her business.
Hope you have a happy health 8 months0
