Oooh Lasagne sounds lovely!! But it can take an hour or so to get it ready! Maybe plan it for tomorrow? Unless your mind changes that quick? As mine does at the moment - poor hubby lol.
  • Glittermonster - fantastic news!

Missy - I've had insomnia since about week 5 and I'm like the walking dead - desperate for sleep!

    Welcome to any newbies!

I had my scan today and it was absolutely amazing. Spud was kicking and waving it's arms and even stuck it's tongue out! I cannot believe how detailed it was and I'm really pleased with the photo. My OH is busy scanning and uploading as I type so hopefully I can post it very soon!
Sonographer said I'm 12+1 so dates haven't changed. Due 19th Oct.

  • Evening ladies, I'm just creeping over from the ttc thread, and thought I'd test the waters. I'm a bit scared to come on here because I only got my BFP yesterday and it doesn't feel real so I'm scared I'm jinxing myself and that AF is going to jump out on me
Hi everyone, can I join? I found out last Friday evening that I was pregnant (bit of a saga - 6 tests I did were positive, but the one the doctor's trainee did was negative, and didn't even offer a retest!). My doctor was off this week, and I have a loop diathermy booked for 4th May, so I've been quite anxious until yesterday, when I had an early scan at St Thomas hospital. Turns out I'm around 5 weeks gone, and they couldn't see the fetal pole, but could see the gestational sac, so I've got another scan on 20th April. I'm ridiculously excited :)
Do you mind if I join you? I am having the strangest day. Have been awake most of the night. Did a pregnancy test at 7am and it was POSITIVE! I cannot believe it. We have been trying for nearly three years and I honestly believed it was never ever going to happen (severe endometriosis). I had major surgery 9 months ago. I feel like I'm dreaming. Poor hubby cried for 2 hours with joy before going off to work in a daze. I'm nearly five weeks so hanging on until I can make it 'official' with the midwife at six weeks. Wow, today is dragging!

Nice to see some other newbies too. Phoenix I would have been beside myself. It must have been quite stressful for you :(

Nursie that is fab news, you've obviously been through the wringer with ttc. I can empathise as I spent 4 and 1/2 years ttc with ex-DH. How are you and your DH feeling tonight?

There are a couple of long term TTC-ers due over from the TTC thread so you can share epic tales..

Just need Deb to build up her courage and come over.

Well, I've read back a couple of pages to try and get up to speed but it isn't really sticking in my brain. I was awake at 4am yesterday waiting for a reasonable hour to go to the supermarket for a clearblue digi without looking suspicious to DH, then today I've been awake from 3am with excitement and shock at getting our BFP.

So I've got a few questions about the first few days / weeks of being a mummy to be. If anyone has time to answer them I'd be grateful:

    1) How long did it take before you finally started to believe you really were pg? :j

    2) When did you go to the Doctors to let them know?

    3) What foods do you need to avoid? I googled it but there wasn't as much to avoid as I thought, some fish/shellfish, home made mayo, and unwashed fruit and veg was all I got.

    4) When should you stop wearing underwired bras?

    5) Have you told anyone, other than your OH? :D

    Thanx muchly in advance!
