welcome fluffysox and congratulations. Hope you have a lovely smooth pregnancy.
engagedlady you must be about the same as me then. 6 weeks and a lot more weeks to go!
I'm glad to see so many scans it's making my wait go a bit faster
Yep, 6 weeks and it feels like forever to go.Married since March 20120 -
Congratulations Courgette. What fab news!
HITC your boss sounds awful. I've got to tell mine on Monday. I'm hoping he will be OK as I've just found out that I've been accepted on the management course I appiled for back in November. It was supposed to be 1 day a month for 6 months then 6 months of self study (which was fine when I was still trying to get pregnant), but now i've found out it's actually 1 year then 6 months. OOPS!!
Scan went well yesterday, baby was doing a headstand. I've been put back another two days though to 12+4. The last three weeks have dragged as I was thinking I was more like 14+2. Oh well I guess I need to be more patient.0 -
HITC- your boss sounds awful. May be worth swotting up on your maternity rights to make sure that they don't try to fleece you over. Definetely get a doctors line if you don't feel well, the stress of work wont be helping!
I was completely debilitated by sickness for around 2-3 weeks before I was offered help (OH thought I was making myself worse by feeling sorry for myself) so you have my sympathies.
Got my midwife appointment at 10.45. Lucky I live 5 mins from the Health Centre.0 -
Hitc - Deffo try to get in at the docs don't forget you can self certify sickness for a week anyway, servere sickness can be really awful only those who have had it can truly understand
I've felt ok for a few days but today was really sick and had nausea most of the morning , I'm due back at work Monday but going to get in to see the doc see if they'll give me a sick note for another week because I really don't think I could face it, I do a manual job that is hard enough at the best of times without feeling like this. Anyways enough moaning
Hope midwife appointment went well Nikki mines not til next Thursday I can't waitxx

Hi there - I have a quick question I'm hoping you might be able to help me with...
I've had a positive test, but since I had an early miscarriage a few months ago, I've decided not to go to see my GP until I'm at 6 weeks, so that I don't have to go through the cancelling appointments etc if something goes wrong again in the early days. So the plan is that I'll see the GP then and be referred to the hospital for booking in etc (I need to go to a special hospital because of existing health issues).
However, when I had the miscarriage, the EPU (at a different hospital) said that when I became pregnant again I should contact them and they'd do tests etc. - I presume to check it was looking OK and put my mind at ease.
So does anyone have an idea of which I should do first? Any early scans etc would be very welcome, but I don't want to do things the wrong way around and get things confused between hospitals.

sweatybetty it might be better to get in contact sooner rather than later as they may offer you a free early 'reassurance' scan. It may take a few weeks to get booked in for the early scan. I think a relative had their reassurance scan at around 8 weeks.0

Thanks, my appointment went well but walking 500 yards down the road almost killed me
. They took blood from my poor arm that is still all bruised from the hospital. Silly me didnt think to take any chocolate so had a dizzy/puky/wobbly spell.
Scan is on 6th March and they do the downs syndrome test then aswell which is different to my last pregnancy.
Apparently my sore muscles are down to me being run down and a surge in hormones. I can barely move.
OH attempted to take me to Krispy Kreme as its just opened in Edinburgh but it was so busy that the police were turning traffic away - oh well. The car journey took it out of me though which is crazy.
Sweaty Betty I would deffo contact your GP sooner rather than later. They'll know what the best course of action is.0 -
Hi everyone,
Im here because I'm all over the place. Im not sure if im in the right thread but here goes.
I found out i was positve on tue night, BIG shock was told i wouldnt concieve naturally but here i am 7 years later with 2 lines! Yes im pleased but soooo unprepared - 2 panic attacks later.
My dr thinks maybe im 14wks but not 100% sure - will they know for sure off a scan? how long do u wait for a scan? when do i tell people as my MIL is hounding me and i'm hiding after 2 carrier bags of baby clothes appeared at my house within 24hrs! she went shopping!! she says i need to get over it - I say i need a little time for me to adjust. Mu husband is over the moon - I'm petrified.... I havent had any folic acid, ive been on clairithromycin abx (not meant for expecting mums) and 6 weeks of ibuprofen and tramadol!!!!!!!
But nice to meet u all xww: -2.5, -4.5 lb0
