Welcome An9i77, congrats on your bfp. Hope to see all the ladies from the ttc thread over here soon.
Hugs pigpen for feeling awful, I hope it passes.
@mv glad the people in work were supportive and hope you are doing well
AFM all is well and as it should be, it was wonderful to see a baby on the scan. Measuring to date, loads of movement and a good strong heartbeat!
Thanks Lao Cat - congrats on the scan, once you get a heart beat your chance of continuing the pregnancy massively increases.
AFM I have my first scan booked in for next Thursday - one of the only advantages to my medical condition - fingers and toes crossed that all will be well.0 -
Afternoon ladies. Well we told all the family and close friends the news at the weekend - everyone is delighted and surprised (not as bl00dy surprised as we were!). DD (13) took it really well which is a relief. I still can't quite believe that this is how I am going to spend the last few months of my 30s... Looks like my 40th will be spent with a bottle of red wine and a slab of brie providing baby bump has made an appearance.
Nuchal Scan tomorrow seeing as I was just a few days too early last week and they will take all my bloods then too
I'm feeling much better now i have hit 12 weeks, though need to try to get out of the habit of just eating marmite toast and jelly beans!
Hope everyone's well.0 -

Did anyone feel strangely anticlimatic the day after they got their BFP? I didn't want to put this on the trying thread, as I know it might look ungrateful - but I feel a bit like - what now?
I really am very grateful and suprised and thankful but I just feel a bit like - is this really happening? I think because I wanted it for so long, but now it's here I'm not quite sure what to do with the experience!
Don't know if that makes sense to anyone - it's almost like I can't allow myself to get excited just yet.0 -
I'll be 40 4 months before mine arrives! :eek:Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0

How do you deal with the anxiety of something going wrong? I know you've had a few bad experiences.0 -
To be honest you just have to get on with it. It's not easy, particularly if you've been unlucky previously, but the way to (try) and look at it is there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop anything happening (apart from the obvious of course - look after yourself etc).
The first 12 weeks are slow and drag by, but then once you get over that hump and into the 2nd tri, you'll find time starts to speed up.
Oh, and try to stay away from Google and self-diagnosos and dissecting every twinge, symptom or lack of symptoms (this is my downfall!)Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
oooh lots of old birds sprogging this year it seems lol.
The first 3 months are boring after the initial excitement of the bfp you spend the next 2 months questioning every twinge and gripe.. it is usually constipation or wind! and knicker twitching in case you are bleeding.. once you have had the scan and booking it does go much quicker it gets to 20 weeks in no time and the next thng you are panicking because you are 36 weeks and done nothing lol..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Just wanted to pop my head in (so to speak) and say hello! Just found out I am pregnant a few days ago!
So I suppose its just a wait and feel sick game for now until im far enough alongto make an initial appointment!
Trying to stay positive, but do keep peeing on sticks to make sure they are going darker, and doing lots of knicker twitching like another poster said earlier!0
