ouchy Giz. Did your GP advise you to have that?

Well, last time I was advised by midwife and I did have it. I asked midwife this time and she said "yeah book it when you're ready", so not really advised as such. I took a long time deciding on it though. I have had the flu before and it does wipe you out and being I'm working in a school I thought my odds of getting it were good...so I've gone for it.

I hate making these decisions. It's hard because it's not just for yourself.

    Thanks for all the welcomes!

My booking in appt isn't until 21st Feb, but looking forward to it.

We've ended up telling a few people already :o. Today I absolutely broke down during a difficult professional conversation (to be honest the other person was being confrontational, rude and very condescending) and I ended up in complete hysterics. Ooops.

Once I'd started crying I couldn't stop. Now I'm absolutely mortified and still feeling v emotional about it. I hope this cloud lifts soon, it will be nice to enjoy being pregnant!

  • hmm it wasn't mentioned at mine on Friday.

I have to see the obstetrician week after next so will ask about it then.

I did have it in my last pregnancy but it was much further along.

  • Hi all, just checking in. I've told the people I thought needed to know at my work (school) and I've met with my teaching assistant manager and done a risk assessment.

I am to carry my mobile phone with me on silent when I am ever alone with pupils, which is mainly when they storm out of class etc and all I do anyway is observe them. But I am to ring the office or my teachers mobile if the behaviour changes in the pupil so I can swap with another staff member.

I had a bit of a weird day yesterday, I didn't really feel pregnant and was beginning to doubt 3 pregnancy tests as daft as that sounds. Besides my boobs being very swollen and tender I have no symptoms yet and then forget I am pregnant.

I'm not at the drs until the 12th February so until then I feel like I am in limbo.

Though today I got on my home scales and have already put on 2lbs. I fully intend to follow weight watchers still as I have been following it for 4 years, next Saturday I will have maintained my healthy weight for a year. As someone who has lost a lot of weight, my weight gain in pregnancy is something I want to take seriously but not extreme.

Hope everyone else is well x

The MW also told me that I have to take things easy. I took great joy in relaying that message onto OH (who is now cooking dinner) :D

Lol, after I had an op back in May the gynae good my DH to make sure he took good care of me. I don't think I have ever seen him as attentive :)

Glad your booking appointment is out of the way and am delighted to hear they ll be keeping an extra eye on you!

@continualdiamond, I wouldn't stress about the 2 lbs my weight has been up and down between 2 and 4 lbs since Week 5 ( 11 weeks now), a lot of it had been water weight / bloating and hasn't been a consistent gain. Just make sure you eat well and keep hydrated!

AFM 11 weeks today and have a scan on Monday am nervous but excited. Feeling ok, nauseous on and off but nothing major

    I hope everyone is well x x c

I have the worst cold ever this weekend and its so frustrating that I can't take the usual remedies! I've had paracetamol and have been breathing in steam with a drop of olbas oil in. Hope it goes off by work tomorrow or I'll be super miserable!
  • It's crap getting colds when you can't take anything. Maybe try some hot honey and lemon as a drink? That is quite soothing and tastes nice too :)

Thanks lao. I still don't feel pregnant! I'm 10 weeks today, and trying not to google or worry!. 16 days to my scan.

and sling in a couple of soluble paracetamol and you have a lemsip minus the decongestant.

beconase can be used as it works on the sinus's rather than being ingested. Vicks rub stuff is not advised against AFAIK .. there are some who think rubbing it on the soles of the feet and wearing socks works wonders (TBH, I just use everything I normally would and noone appears to be adversely affected, but I am a law unto myself.)
