    Thanks for the welcome!

@minimuffin, I am in the south, Dublin which is apparantely quite hard to get appointments/ scans public the average is at 20wks!

@rumfeeble I am good a bit nauseous and sore boobs but otherwise no symptoms lol.
  • Im from just outside belfast. I do love going to Dublin and paying a visit to pennys! Oh my goodness 20weeks is a long time, i don't know anything about the health service there and Im sure private care would cost a fortune unless you have a health plan.

Im seriously addicted to salt and vinegar pringles, feel so guilty eating them too as i know i should be eating fruit!

The health service is such that almost everyone I know has private health insurance, that is not great. When I lived in london, I was amazed that a GP visit didnt cost €60!

All in it would cost 4k with health insurance or so to go private. Not exactly :money: but we are lucky in that for us it is an option we can afford (not that I couldn't find other things to buy with that!). I will see what the dr recommends!

Still in work :( atm and now craving salt and vinegar pringles but I ditched my healthy lunch for a burger so I really should be good!

Must of crossed posts TOFT, massive hugs to you and so sorry for your loss.
  • The hospital Dr said that at this stage your body will crave what it needs and as long as you take a multi-vitamin not to worry too much what you're eating, especially if you have a lot of sickness.
  • I was taking maca root before getting my bfp and have taken the same dose (2 tablets a day) since, now the packet says do not take when pregnant so I did a little research online to see if there was any information about why.

It seems there is no real studies that have been done on pregnant women taking maca. Several ladies have reported on forums that they took it right through pregnancy and think it helped support the pregnancy. After all it does help to regulate the hormones. There was even a few stories of ladies misscarrying after stopping taking maca. But the box says don't take when pregnant...... and I usually prefer to follow 'the rules'
Any one got an opinion? Not advice..... I know that's not allowed

Never heard of maca root so can't comment on that specifically but everything will say not to take while pregnant on it if you look (or at least to check with doctor / midwife before taking). My folic acid supplement for example.
