Wehay - big congratulations Mrsj28!:T And good luck to the others who are also having scans this week!
Mine is next Tuesday - should be 12+6 so will be interesting to find out a. if there is anything there (still seems a bit strange and I am huge through bloating - its getting very hard to disguise it) and b. if there is something there, what they date me as.
Is anyone else getting terrible road rage? I am getting worse each day on the commute to work. I have no patience and if someone cuts me up.....well...theres all hell to pay!:mad:
I can't stand cyclists right now- bad enough already when you want to get home and they're holding up the traffic but I feel sick on the drive home everyday so the other night I was screaming in my car at onr and wishing I could puke on him if he'd didn't get out my way because I need to get home to be sick and every minute I had to crawl along behind him was driving me insane!0 -
Fabby to hear about the scans - BB and Mrsfox!:T Congratulations to both of you!:beer:0

Hi everyone I am a newbie on here. I am 8 weeks today, and had my first doctors appointment this morning.
My family has a history of high blood pressure, and my mum had pre-eclampsia with one of my brothers. My BP has always been a little on the higher side.
I was told that my blood pressure is a little high for what it should be this morning, and that I may have to see the midwife more than normal, and I have gone into full panic mode (which I know wont help my BP).
Obviously I cant take tablets now, so does anyone have any natural ways to lower my blood pressure. It would be much appreciated.0 -
Welcome mrs.b! Congratulations! Try not to panic - I know that's easier said than done. I think high blood pressure is not uncommon in pregnancy so I wouldn't stress about it - especially seen as it is only a little high.
I can't offer any advice on lowering it I'm afraid, but just try to concentrate on the things you can control, like your diet, exercise, taking your supplements, and making sure you know the do's and don'ts for pregnancy and try not to worry about things that are out of your control - that's what the doctors and midwives are there for.
Stay positive! That is my mantra at the moment!

Morning ladies!
Welcome mrs.butler and hippymam (I don't think I said welcome the other day!)
mrs.b - I can't offer any advice about the blood pressure thing but I'm sure the extra midwife appointments will be just to make sure you and baby are ok, and if there is a family history of it it'll be good to keep an eye on things. As lovecake says, if you can try not to panic, it wil help - but much easier said than done!
hippymam - sorry to hear you suffered so badly with hyperemesis (sp?) and hope that this pregnancy is a little easier on you!
mrs fox - congratulations on your scan! see you on the next thread in a little while...
claire16c - hope the sickness (and the cyclist road rage..) eases for you soon
Does anybody else find they are mostly sick at home? I think it's a weird psychological thing where I can't 'let' myself be sick anywhere else, but as soon as I get home it is awful!
I'm staying here for a while, hope that's ok, as I'm still only 11+4, not quite ready to move 'up' to the next thread!
Is anybody having a scan today? Good luck mogwai - I can't remember if it's today or tomorrow...
I wish I could have a scan everyday! DH asked how much it would cost to get a home ultrasound machine!!!0 -
Thanks BB and mrsj - yup i have my scan at lunchtime - can't wait! Fingers crossed everything is fine..
I really hope they can do an over belly scan this time, the internal probe thing scares me (though everyone says I should will used to all sorts of probing down there during the pregnancy)
welcome mrs butler, sorry I dont have any advice for high bp, ive always suffered the opposite - but id imagine staying positive and stress free would help with high b.p!
TeaACC - good luck with your scan today! We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

Oooh teaandcupcakes - good luck today, I had missed that it was yours today too... can't keep track!0

Good luck teaandcupcakes! So many scans this week, I can't keep up with them all
It's been an exciting week for so many of us though, looking forward to more good news
I think you should be OK with a belly scan at this stage Mogwai. I'm pretty chubby and baby was lying very low down, but the sonographer still managed to do what she needed to do with the belly scan yesterday.
And yes, seriously, you won't care about people shoving their whole hand up there by the time it comes to squeezing the baby out - you really leave your dignity at the door when it comes to having a baby! :rotfl:
Hi mrs.b. Sorry I can't help with high BP, I tend to suffer from the oppositeBest thing to do would probably ask your midwife or doctor if they think there is anything you should be doing about it at this stage. If it's only a little high, they may just want to keep an eye on you for now.

I really hope they can do an over belly scan this time, the internal probe thing scares me (though everyone says I should will used to all sorts of probing down there during the pregnancy
I think it only starts when they want to see how labour is progressing (or if you're late how your cervix is looking)0
