I have my scan date! Aggggeeeeessss away yet but its the 30th November x

Morning all, had my scan yesterday - we couldnt really see or hear anything over the tummy, so the tech did an internal scan and even though its tiiiny (5w4d apparently) we saw the foetus, and heard the heart beating - it was slow (92) because it was so early, a day or so earlier and the hb wouldn't have been there! We were sooo relieved, even though the hb was a bonus as I just wanted to know it was in the right place..

Also, apparently I conceived twins so there were 2 sacs but one of them is smaller than the other and empty, this is known as vanishing twin syndrome.

Anyway, even though its still early days, I can go on holiday on thurs with some peace of mind now

Well my test results still aren't back. bloody doctors.

If you have had chicken pox then you are fine around people with shingles. My husband had it when I was 12 weeks pregnant and the docs weren't concerned once I confirmed I'd had chicken pox. Obviously check with yours, but probably no need to avoid your Dad.

I was told that the whooping cough jab is only for those in 3rd trimester at the moment.

Well ladies, I started light bleeding again this morning and my nausea has dropped off considerably. I went to my booking in appointment this afternoon, she suggested not doing any of the information gathering until I have had a scan. I have an appointment at the EPU on Thursday, as I have a work committment and couldn't make the appointment offered tomorrow.

I also took a urine sample which tested positive for ketones, despite me taking it shortly after a substantial lunch (I'd also had a good breakfast). That's got me worrying a little too, as diabetes runs in my family, although there was no sugar in my urine so she didn't think it was related to that. she is going to send to the lab to test for UTI as she suggested that could account for the cramping I'm feeling if the scan shows no problems.

Groan, Thursday seems a long way away :-(

Having read how easy it is to lose your pregnancy so early I am expecting the worst at every twinge. I told a very close friend today and she cried!!! (we're not telling anyone else until at least 12 weeks - or preferably when I start showing which hopefully will come later if the bloating goes down).

I am as bloated as a balloon - I am wearing elasticated trousers and baggy tops - so I expect people think I look like a sack of potatoes at work!

the wooping cough jab is done after 28 weeks pregant, pick up a new leaflet in doctors today when i booked my flu jab.

not to long til my scan tomorow x
