Afternoon all. Suffering dreadfully with sickness, spots, gray skin, I'm tired all of the time and starving (but mostly for fruit and meat). my dad's just been informed that he has shingles so I'm not allowed near him for a while.

Went for my flu jab on Friday and the nurse looked at me like I was stupid when I said it hadn't been confirmed. Needless to say- no jab but a test has been sent off to the lab. Was told to call back for it today but after calling this morning and then again this afternoon I've been told that it won't be ready until tomorrow. Anyone think I need a new doctors?

I'm amazed they wouldn't give you the flu jab! Is that because you had only done a home pregnancy test? Most GPs don't bother testing you these days as the home tests are so accurate.

Have other people had a flu jab? I thought I'd mention it when I go to see my GP next week as I guess I should have one (I don't usually). Is there anything else worth asking at the first GP appointment? I'm not expecting much more than for the GP to tell me to take folic acid and refer me for a midwife appointment.
  • Aparently we need a whooping cough jab as well. to be honest I think the nurse was being protective of her stocks- they're running short and have been told to only give them to pregnant women until they've been restocked. Not being confirmed by the doctor I guess I don't count yet :/
I don't often return to a thread I've posted on so.... if you want to ask me about anything I've written please pm me- I don't bite.
  • Mrs J I was wondering the same thing, I went to the docs, had pregnancy confirmed and he refered me to the midwife so i am just waiting on the appointment and thought id mention the flu jab then.

Lol re the steak i would be the same. Its just soooo hard to keep it a secret. Still they will find out soon enough! Im only in my 5th week and keep promising ill hold off telling them until the scan.....

    exciting times :) xx

So sorry Tinks. all our hearts feel and pray for you.

OH had ever so small bleeding eary this morning and that scared the hell out of us. It is one week after pregnancy test. We did three tests over two days to be sure! finally managed to speak to IVF nurse later in the day and she said it happens to 25-30% of people and basically to keep waiting till scan on monday! ohhhh nervy times!! fingers crossed!

it might be the silliest thing but i know she would be shattered if the worst happens. she has not had any more bleeding since morning and no pain. no idea as to what this means. i am guessing no one can tell us anything until the scan. though any thoughs welcome!
