Hi all, just got back - oh how amazing! Got a nice picture (you can actually kinda tell what it is, lol) but it was fast asleep face down, bum up (I've got pictures of myself asleep like that as a baby....) and it wouldn't wake up :rotfl: Instead of 12 weeks I'm now 11+5 which is neither here nor there but makes it a definite October baby (EDD 1 Oct).

The midwife however was like a whirlwind - barely kept up with her! Have booked my 16 wk app today, will have gloucose test at 28 weeks plus a 20 wk scan & 34 wk scan (didn't know about the 34 wk one - more piccies?!) Also had my first bloods taken & weight measured & they didn't charge for the photo :)

Hope all are well - sorry am a bit hyper at the mo...

    C xx

Skint...how very exciting!! Now, you have that wonderful chance to "chill" and start thinking about baby clothes and all that good stuff. :)

cedrickerry, congratulations! Those babies that come after lots of waiting and hard work are extra special. :D

are you getting married redwood? very exciting times if you are!!

i have a girl vibe going on as well - last time i was convinced it would be a boy but never got to find out :(

Yep, June 11th. It's all been a bit of a whirlwind, but after Felix died we both just thought "life's too short" so started booking stuff.

I am feeling a bit gloomy about stuff at the moment and I don't feel particularly excited. I feel like I want to say to everyone "don't get excited - you're not home and dry just because you are past 12 weeks" but I know thats just because I got burned last time. I suppose its true, although fortunatly most people don't have to learn that the hard way.

Not sure where the girl vibe is coming from - maybe its becaue my friend is having a girl.
  • Redwood I hear you. Definately! *sigh*
fingers crossed til the bundles are in our arms.

    I just want my scan!!

PP - Is a termination out of the question for you? You never know how people feel about these things so though I would ask. How about you get sterilized after this one?

I did consider it, and decided it wasn't the answer as it is not unwanted just unexpected.. I'll survive it is just very soon after the baby and shellshocked is probably about right. I'll ask a different gp about contraception after this one.. I asked in December and she said no.. but at least it is on record that I asked!

anyway.. you go for booking.. erm.. I have a student with me who knows you.. oh? .. it was only my cousins wife!!!!!!!!!!!!

scan on 5th April 11am... (nb. get there early as they book 3 at once and deal with on first come first seen..)

Off to feed baby and other beasties..

  • Well, as you quite rightly said - worse things happen than a baby :)

I just posted this on some sort of pregnancy thread but they all seem to be popping/very pregnant and i doubt someone like me would interest them :D

    So....il post here instead.

Before I got pregnant last year, my nipples were both 'normal'. After my son was born I had severe mastitis in my right breast which got progressivly worse as I didn't have any midwife visits and went untreated for about 6 weeks.

Anyway, since then my right nipple has become really inverted. If i stimulate it, it comes out, but most of the time it is hiding!

Is this going to cause me any problems and is there anything i can do about it? Has anyone else experienced it?
  • Yey! Fantastic news SkintCatt, lovely to hear you sounding so excited!!! :T:T

April 5th is our date. I made it in the afternoon, so we could work the mornings. I am going to be really spacey that day though, I'm sure.

Time to go and cook dinner before I fall asleep! :)

have a look at this chart . i don't know how accurate it is , but it a bit of fun.

    http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/family/174482/Chinese-birth-predictor--Baby-boy-or-girl-

it was right with my 1st and 3rd child, but with my second i was 23 when i fell for him,and found out i was preg oct , but not sure if i feel preg in the sep or the begin of oct. but if i fell in oct, then it was right. says this time i'm having a girl :j i guess only time will tell.

see if your vibes are right .
