make sure you drink lots of fluids between now and tomorrow it is supposed to help with pumping your veins up a bit and make it easier to take blood.
Thanks, thats what the nurse said too. Apparently my wee was very dark too and so have to drink lots more water in general
Another tip for anyone else in same position is she also told me to dress warmer tomorrow to prevent my veins hiding away from the cold (to be fair i was wearing a short sleeve dress and leggings and was bl00dy freezing in her office)0 -

I have the same problem i've always been bad at getting enough to drink. last week i ended up at the hospital to get my blood taken because none of the nurses who tried at the walk in centre could find a vein. I now have a very attractive bruise from being used as a pin cushion!0 -
Well that was interesting. Just had a bit of a mini breakdown at work, and cried a LOT!
Mostly at my DW and the fact we have houseguests who seem incapable of taking the tube on their onw, so my DW is spending every minute of every second going around with them (fine, they are her friends), but we dont have any alone time. We're not even going to bed together, as she is staying up with them.
So I just went into a horrible rant at her, may have said 'I hate you' and a few other horrible things (not proud of this) - my hormones must be ALL over the place. I feel so dreadfulBaby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -

2ba3c, I hope you take this the way it is intended but there have been a few posts of yours which have made me think you need to calm down a little. It really doesn't sound like all these house guests are doing your mental state any good, or your relationship with DW. How long are they staying for?
Can you take some time out? Go for a swim? Read a book? When you are alone, do you feel relaxed?
I don't know how long you were TTC, but I guess with needing donors etc then it wasn't particularly short. Are you feeling under pressure now you're finally pregnant? Of course your hormones are up and down, but remember that you may have reasons to be feeling the way you are too and those reasons need addressing. Its easy to say "oh its the hormones" but I think you (well, all of us) need to be careful that that isn't used as an excuse to mask genuine issues which could affect ourselves and our babies.
I hope you don't think I'm being out of order...
ETA: the link you posted is very interesting!0 -
Thanks for the link 2b i'm so glad it's not just me!
I'm trying to keep it all inside but it's really not easy! I've had to leave the office twice today to calm myself down. And once was just because there was no ink left in the printer.
Also fuelling my rage today - the not very helpful woman from the Maternity Unit I spoke to on the phone earlier re my booking appointment and scan date. I swear she was winding me up on purpose!! She just kept telling me to wait until I get a letter. But i'm ringing because I still don't have a letter and should have one by now!! - ''it might be delayed in the post, just wait and see'' ''it might have got lost in the post or not been sent, could you just check that i'm on the system please?'' ''no we don't do that'' - aaaaaaarrrrggghh!!!!! I WANT AN APPOINTMENT!!!:mad:
Sorry - rant over0 -
fmow - always interesting to hear others perspectives.
I do suffer with terrible PMS, so I wonder if this is linked in any way! I am genuinely just tired and sick of people being in my small house. I want some quiet, I want my wife to myself. I want to not be judged for sitting in PJS, watching trashy TV and I am finding the guests exhausting and judgemental. I want to go to bed and have a cuddle with my wife, but she is staying up with her guests, out of a sense of duty?!
I just feel like a lot of people have asked a lot of me over the last 3 weeks in particular, from the moment I found out I was pregnant, which mean I had to hide my own excitement initially to be a supportive friend and I think I have just reached breaking point, tbh.Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -
Welcome to newbies!!
2b you sound so down just now I just want to give you a hug
When do your guests leave? I couldn't handle having people in my home for that long, I had my in-laws round 2 weeks ago for 2 hours and I was desperate to get rid!! Mind you my MIL takes a lot of patience out of me, we told them the good news as we thought they would like to know straight away and I got a story from the FIL about his distant relative who told everyone and ended up having a mc and MIL was really blase about it coz I was only 4 weeks. And they havent called since either. Cow lol! My mum on the other hand was bawlin her eyes out and was over the moon.
Sorry just realised I went waaaaay of topic there...my point was to try and only have people around who have your best interests at heart at the moment. Your DW will understand, she's going through it all too, if she's been taking them around everywhere so she's probably ready for them to go too
First day back at work for me today after nearly 2 weeks off, wasn't to bad either, it hard not telling people though, kept repeating "must not tell people" over and over lol! Away to put dinner on if I could only decide what to have...:)Saving money like a trouper...0
