Thanks for the reassurance guys, had a chat with MIL & SIL who are pregnancy veterans today so feeling a bit more relaxed
Also found im becoming a bit gooey over kids! I've never been maternal or broody but today i spent hours playing with SILs 2YO who usually doesnt bother with me, he kept coming up to me for attention and cuddles
Went to Asda today, so hard not to baby shop:oI'm not a bloke! :rotfl:My real name is Sinead, Sid is my nickname :rotfl:0 -

I am going to have to learn how to turn the chat option off on FB, pr block her, she does love a chat ever day - BUT at the moment, she is one of the few people who knows I am pregnant, so I can chat about that to her, and I am enjoying that for SURE!
Whats your guilty trashy TV viewing then Millie?Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -
..if OH would stay on one channel long enough, I'd let you know....
Got a bit excited because I saw willy wonka, then realised it wasn't the original one. Boo!
I have switched FB chat off, antisocial little madam that I am- hehe
Sid- I must confess to a couple of cheeky purchases, including some baby jodhpurs - essential baby wear....not!!0 -
I have been internet window shopping instead, picking out things i quite like and then when the time comes i can start looking for the best deals or second hand, won't be making any actual purchases until after the 20 week scan probably if we make it that far
have some things left over from dd but that was 5 years ago so will be nice to look and buy teeny tiny things again

I've decided once we (hopefully!) get to the 12 week scan we will start looking. I have starting doing some research online, but car seats/cots - omg, every decision is a little overwhelming!
Of course different friends have different suggestions. I may just take out a subscription to which, to see what they suggest!Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -
Hello
Can I join your club? Just found out I,,m 7 weeks pregnant. :-) It is planned but much sooner than expected! Am very excited but don't think I'm actually going to believe it until my first scan.
And for that reason we've decided we dont want to tell anyone until then!
So now for the advice asking.. sorry!
My boss is not the nicest and when I eventually tell him i don't expect him to be pleased!
My problem is I work Mon - Fri 8.30 til 5.30 in a very small office in the middle of nowhere and only get half hours for lunch!
I rang the midwife whilst sat in my car at lunch today and they are telling me I need to make various appointments and call people in the middle of the day! I know I'm entitled but I am not telling my work for another month yet and generally I need 2weeks notice for time off. I already left early for the doctors yesterday but I'm not sure how to handle the other appointments and calls they want me to make?
How do you manage? Surely its normal to be working so why am I expected to do eVerything in the middle of the day so early on?
I'll have advanced warning for the first scan so will take the day off but they want me to have an 11o'clock appointment this week or next and someone called me and left me a message telling me to call back at 9 tomorrow!!
What do I do? Other than sitting in my car I can't make a private call!
When I was pregnant the first time I worked for a small family run business (not my family I might add) and they insisted that all my hospital appointments would need to be taken on days off or use holidays, this is totally incorrect as you are entitled to full payed time off regardless of how many appontments you have.
Any way I went in and asked to speak to the owners (husband and wife) and stated exactly the above to them, they tried to argue but I stood my ground and told them perhaps they would like to check this out with there lawyer/accountant. They did and then had to allow me the time off for all of my appointments and there were a few as I was high risk, but not before the wife still tried to persuade me that it would make more sense to get all appoinments on my days off.
My advice stand up for yourself and don't take any Sh*t from your employer.

Morning ladies. Wow, what a night last night! How amazing are team GB; makes me proud to be British (and from South Yorkshire!). Hope you all got to watch it.
How are you all doing? Feeling any better 2b? I meant to ask, what is ranch dressing? I feel like I'm missing out on something!
Welcome misty. Bex,I agree with misty - stand up to your boss (good luck)
Not sure when we'll start buying things, I'd like to think after the 20week scan (to be sensible) but I'm sure we'll want to start sooner:D Although I did have a dream last night that DH and I went shopping with both sets of parents; they were running around this massive superstore buying stuff like it was going out of fashion but we were just stood there in shock and totally scared!!!
Luckily (for DH) I've not been too emotional (yet!!!) although I was a bit mardy the other day - not enough sleep!! I was not good yesterday though; went to bed on Friday, couldn't sleep. Went downstairs about 11 and proceeded to be sick every 30mins (ish) until 5am!! Managed to sleep 6am to 7.30am!!! Don't know if I've got a water infection - thats what happened last time I did:(. On the plus side, Mum came round to help us do some gardening yesterday (did resemble a small jungle as I've just not felt like doing anything!). As I felt so rough, I watched her and DH working hard whilst I watched the olympics (and them) from the sofa:rotfl:It looks lovely now; will help DH finish it off today though.0
