binkyboo, thinking of you. If it helps, I had bleeding at 4 weeks, 7ish weeks and 8 weeks. The 7ish weeks bleeding was the worst. Anyhow, it just turned out to be implantation bleeding/cervix being a bit irritated and all was well :)

    Hi Bexm,

Can I ask where you live in west wales? Im in Pembrokeshire.

Hope you can sort something out Bexm regarding the appt!

Went for my midwife appt yesterday, lovely lady who went through everything and gave me the booklet to fill in with family health history etc. Now got to sit and wait for the scan at 13 weeks (another 6 weeks!) Seems a bit more real now after having the appt yesterday!

    Hi Abby
same here! Small world! recognise your name.. hmmm!
I managed to go through all the first stuff on the phone so haven't met the mid wife . Just waiting for the first scan now. Apparently it will be the beginning of September. I don't think it will feel real until then!

I've got my 12 week scan next Thursday. OH was muttering about a job interview next week. I asked him to tell them he couldn't do Thursday (not unreasonable at this time of year with people going off on hols, etc). They invited him for interview on Thurs, he went along with it because it "wouldn't have looked good". He's been invited for interviews before and asked for an alternative date due to work stuff, etc. So why not this and what was the harm in asking?

He missed our early scan because he couldn't get his a*se out of bed on time and now this. :(

Hugs to Millie :( I think you will just have to make him promise to be at the 20 week scan or else!
Time off may be a problem for my oh too, he is a contractor and if he doesn't work then he doesn't get holiday pay or anything i'm hoping we can be careful enough to budget for the days off he needs but time will tell.
Is 4 1/2 weeks too early to be craving foods? i seem to be eating lots of salad cream after not eating any for months! Salad cream on new potatoes, on brown bread on ham, or on crackers are particular favourites this week and last.

Its not too late for him to ring and say he is sorry - he has a personal clash. I would! Or I would kick him very firmly in the behind.

    sorry Millie xx

Oh, I *love* salad cream, but my new thing is Ranch. DW is Texan so I lived on it out there when we lived there. I've just driven to Costco to pick up 2 huuuuuge bottles as it's the only place they sell it that I know of!

(and spent a small fortune on other bits and pieces, DW will go mad!!) - nothing baby related though *proud of self*

hugs millie - hope you manage to get something sorted with DH

I've not had any cravings, just very limited and pretty boring appetite!!

Has anyone else started to show? I haven't and am 12+1 (although do have a spare tyre round my belly so difficult to tell!)

Well sone 2b for not buying baby stuff - when will you start?

I feel very mean at the moment - just took my dog for her booster jabs and got them to check a few other things while we were there. She now is feeling sorry for herself after having her (warning tmi!!! anal glands checked and emptied, bleugh) and also is the proud owner of a lampshade collar. I don't think she likes me at the moment:o

How is everyone else doing? Counting down the days to my scan, just hope so much that all is well.

Two more gold medals today, woohoo

Thanks peeps, he has managed to move the interview back a bit, so he can come to say a quick hello to baba (providing the scan is on time-ish), then he has to dash off. This is better than nothing!

Ranch dressing.....mmmmmm. Love it! and that and blue cheese dressing remind me of the US

countrybum- poor doggy. Emptying anal glands is surely the worst job in the world and I used to get my vet or groomer to do our dog's. I'm sure pooch will forgive you...possibly around teatime ;)
  • Hi everyone!

News from me is that I have booked a private scan for tomorrow :j

I've done it for a few reasons - mainly because my NHS one is scheduled for only 4 days before our wedding and so if anything was wrong I am worrying there won't be enough time to deal with it. I know of 3 people this year in RL who have got to their 12 week scans to find nothing there / baby stopped developing which must be just heartbreaking. But i think i could deal with it better if i knew now. Of course I am hoping everything will be just fine, but i'm thinking £80 well spent for a bit more peace of mind.

    Yey for private scan!

Did anyone watch that Midwife Prog on BBC2? I just sobbed through it.

Feeling a bit rubbish this afternoon, may have to go and have a lay down.
