welcome bexm, it sounds difficult with work. They are legally entitled to let you have time off for ante-natal appointments; I know that doesn't help - sorry.
tattoo-I'm dying to know what you're having for tea; if you're anything like me it will either be a jacket potato or toast:(0 -
I rang the midwife whilst sat in my car at lunch today and they are telling me I need to make various appointments and call people in the middle of the day! I know I'm entitled but I am not telling my work for another month yet and generally I need 2weeks notice for time off. I already left early for the doctors yesterday but I'm not sure how to handle the other appointments and calls they want me to make?
I saw the doctor first (waste of time, but had to happen to get referred to the midwives), then I only had one appointment before the scan. If you've seen the doctor already that's only two appointments to go - the midwife book-in appointment and then the scan itself. If your scan is booked off already, it should only be one to fit in somewhere.
Are you normally allowed to be in early/late for doctors/dentists whatever? I've had all my appointments 'first thing' but they can take a while.0 -
PS: I didn't have to call anyone to make appointments until the post-scan midwife appointment, the others came in the post and I could book my book-in appointment online (but as you will soon discover your area will be different!!) - whereabouts are you based, perhaps some ladies will have better knowledge.0

Bexm, welcome and I hope you get work sorted soon
Tattoo, I'm dying to know too! I cant decide what to have..thinking tomato pasta..yawn!0 -
Hi ladies!
2b great news about the scan! Glad growth is better too, you can relax a bit now
Bexm welcome! Your employer has legal obligations to make sure you are able to attend antenatal appointments and to make sure you have a safe working environment, mine has already made adjustments and I'm only 5+1 (my boss knew we were trying so I told him straight away, he's more of a friend than anything else). Your priority is you and baby's health just make sure he doesn't stress you out!
Tattoo- what did you have to eat then? I've just had a little impromptu BBQ since there is glorious sunshine here today for a change, couldn't eat much though.
AFM I'm having a fab day, been out on my bike for a cycle with oh, had a BBQ, done some gardening and watched some olympics! Feeling very energetic today, I will probably fall asleep by 7pm but I hope this feeling lasts!!Saving money like a trouper...0 -

I'm still deciding what to have - we've been very naughty, had a few more take aways that we normally do over the last couple of weeks! xBaby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -

Is it too early to ring the doctors yet? should i wait a week or so? I have had some bleeding which for now seems to have stopped so fingers crossed all is well.0
