Evening ladies and welcome & congrats to our newbies!

I am 9 weeks today (according to my dates but 10 weeks according to lmp) and definately feel v.bloated at the end of the day. I read somewhere that your digestive system isn't as efficient when your pg so that would explain bloating as the day goes on as your body struggles to process the food you have consumed.

Have had a few different cravings - today it was a jacket potato filled with bacon, spring onions and cheese. Made it for dinner and it was yummy!

Got my booking in appointment tomorrow and feeling very excited to be meeting my midwife and (more importantly) finding out my scan date!!!

afternoon ladies.. how are you all?

we got back a little while ago and yes we met the little one!!:j i was so nervous that i even didnt look at the screen. DH was though. :) we were made to go out and have a drink and something to eat as the baby wasnt in the right position for its skin to be measured so she was poking my belly and stuff. ouch.. the initial scan with measurements, checking arms and legs went fine. phew. :) We saw his/her little hands and legs. i was crying as you can imagine. :)

DH is more concerned about the nuchal test than anything else, and he has managed to upset me when we got home, as i feel he is not showing much emotion at all. meh.. so came in cried and now i have a headache. why are men such effort?

anyway am calming myself by looking at the scan pics. :T our little bubba is ok. :) yay..

so.. i am supposedly 13+4 (and i thought i was 13 weeks tomorrow) and the EED is now 24/12/2012. :) i dont care when, but i want a nice healthy baby.

:j i probably have to leave here and go to the other thread no? sob sob. is that the 12-14 weeks one?

ladies thanks so so much for your support. i will keep coming back too :) and skint chick belated happy anniversary. xxx

Rups I hope you are still reading. I'm so glad your scan went well. Is the blue text a clue???!!! We will miss you on here but so happy you have graduated! I wouldn;t worry too much about the EDD - I'm going to post a link in a bit about why EDDs are a load of rubbish. I always just say the first half of the month or the last half, babies can come anywhere between 37 and 42 weeks so it's quite a big window!

I will see my MW in 2 weeks, i already know her cos she was my MW with my DD, 5 years ago. Really everything is fine, nothing is a big deal, just get worried for nothing, as they say.
My boobs hurt but i can not see them growing at all... oh well, they did not grow much during puberty why would the grow suddenly now ? Even with DD they grew just a little bit when the milk came in, and still !! it was like the size did not change, it was only a weird shape trying to hold an amazing amount of milk. Ofcourse my back or the fat in my back did grow... :S

My boobs are my most reliable sign! They get massive and very sore, and when my milk came in with DD they were in the next room! The MW wrote in my notes: Milk has most certainly come in! :rotfl:

MrsGeee, it was my first appointment. It is our first child too. I was nervous when meeting the midwife and I think I just built it up in my head when in fact I felt like she focused on the negative. She classed it as a high risk pregnancy because of my mc and ectopic previously and the last thing she said to me was, if it all goes wrong it just wasn't meant to be. As far as I am aware everything with this pregnancy is going ok so I thought that was very negative of her. Not exactly the nurturing, caring person I had expected.

That is awful! I have had four miscarriages including a missed miscarriage but I am classed as low risk. Perhaps because I have had a child? But still. You can ask to see another MW you know, and you can complain to the Supervisor of Midwives as well, you can always do it after baby arrives, but I'd defeinitely talk to your MW about why she classes you as high risk. Often they don;t tell us everything and it is good to talk it through.

Zcrat - They asked me that at my booking app (I have a choice of two), or if I wanted to give birth at home :O I thought it was a bit early but defo going to hospital where I can have lots of drugs haha.

I think it's crazy that they ask at the booking in where you want to give birth - if it's your first you don;t even know the options!

But you can change your mind at any point, even just before you give birth.

I am a home birth girl. Had DD at home and it was AMAZING, just fabulous, You won;t get me near a hospital unless I am ill, and pregnancy and birth are not illnesses IMO.

You can have gas and air at home, so don;t dismiss it out of hand, Do some research into all your options (MW-led unit, hospital, home) and then decide, there is plenty of time.

So, at the booking in app they will ask what hospital I want to go to? hmmmmm......better talk to the hubby

As I said, you can always change your mind. And there are midwife-led units as well which are a corss between home and hospital, those are very popular.

    Hi

I am saying a very tentative hello. I used to be on the TTC thread, then the TTC 12 months plus and FINALLY after three years of trying this morning I got three big old positives!!!

We had just been told that we really needed IVF to conceive and were awaiting the outcome of some further tests. So I'm shocked would be one way to put it.

I'm bang on 4 weeks and suffering with sore boobs and the odd cramp

Hi to all and fingers crossed for everyone.

Hi Tinksy and welcome! Congratulations. :) If you'd like to go on the sticky, then please let me know.

I am craving savoury things full of protein, like peanuts and houmous, plus things like crisps. It was the same with DD. Best to get a lot of your faves in cos there' snothing worse than being thwarted when you want something specific!

As for me, took DD to the first of all her friends' 3rd birthday parties today, we were lucky with the weather and had a lovely time. Can;t believe it is nearly 3 years since I gave birth! I so wanted a 2-year age gap and life just didn;t work out that way.

What has everyone else been doing this weekend?

thanks ladies. I'm terrified right now and praying this is a sticky one, having waited 3 years I feel my time has come!

I've been away since 4am :O I do get occasional insomnia but I think the fact when I am awake I feel sick if I'm not eating which makes it a little difficult to sleep!!!!

Also my head is spinning with everything and worrying about miscarriage etc. We are going to book an early scan for 7 weeks ish and although I want to so I can hopefully get a little bit of relief I'm terrified!!!!

Please tell me it gets easier?

I'm classed as a high risk pregnancy as I'm t1 diabetic. Have no choice but consultant let care for birth and will be induced before or at 38 weeks. Hoping for an early scan too due to illness and previous mc. Local hosp is said to offer diabetic mums scans at 6-8 weeks. Hoping to hear from mw soon to get the ball rolling.

    Hi guys,

Welcome Tinksy - that is just such fantastic news for you after so long trying!!

Skintchick - I think I'll def be a hospital girl. Only because as DH is a farmer he'll have no sympathy at home. He'd be likely to tell the MW to get out a ratchet as it works for cows so it'd work for me. A hospital will scare him into thinking he doesn't know it all.

In fact, on the subject of bloating an big boobs - the other day he looked at me and said "well, you're certainly bagging up well". Bagging up is what happens to cows when their milk comes in! I was not happy at that point.

Slept for 10 hours last night and still pretty ravenous the whole time for carbs. Have put on 5 pounds already but the only thing that stops my nausea is food!

    Oh, great list skint chick. If I could be added that's great;
