had a long night with ds down the out of hours drs. didnt get back til 4.30 this morning. it was fine for ds as he slept most of the time we were down there... i'm shattered! it appears he's eaten something and it has caused a more severe reaction than normal. need to give the nursery a ring to see what food was about yesterday morning. knowing ds, he's sneakily helped himself to something whilethey werent looking. his temperature was up to nearly 40 again but dr reckons that down to his cold. it came down so they let him home. no infections or anything. typically he's brighter today. actually got up and played but its wearing off now. we're watching toy story at the moment.
Bless him,I hope he starts to recover soon, you try and rest too xx
Have had a good clean round down stairs, hoovered and bleached the floors, cleaned the down stairs loo, and the kitchen, have two loads blowing on the line, just waiting for the final load to finish, and then I'm going to go and lay on the bed
, feel absolutly shattered and that I am being pulled 6 different ways, so will indulge myself with a sleep, ( I feel bad even saying that, but need some me time)
Will put the dinner on later on,
Jackie G, hope you feel better soon xx0 -
Morning - hugs and thoughts to everyone who needs them.
It was windy here last night too, but i slept right through it- nothing new there, according to DH!
The utility room FF is back on and cooling down nicely and will be back to appropriate temps by tonight, hopefully.
The nightmare peachy cotton cardi responded well to the dye, and is now a much more wearable burgundy, as is the yarn that I chucked in. Both are drying nicely.
Last night's tea was a whoopsie/storecupboard special - Mr T's chicken breasts from the meat counter (75% off) , some tried veg from the fridge and a homemade Chinese -style lemon sauce (small bottle of lemon juice, a mug of hot chicken stock, boil up, addd salt and sugar to taste, then thicken with granules/ cornflour) Even DH liked it, so we're eating the rest of it tonight.
Must get out soon - I need to get to the vets to pick up a prescription, take some books back to the library, then have a charity shop browse. I heard about new CS on the other side of town- I need to take a look at that one, I think!
Have a good day, people.Surviving the ups and downs of life with DH

DD1 is learning to drive at the mo and drives to school when its my day off, however as its so windy and we live in one of the high spots in sheffield , i decided it would be safer for me to drive , just as well i did as there were huge branches strewn on the roads that you had to navigate round , so dangerous

Shalva your stuffed peppers sounds just the same as in Turkey--its a very frequently eaten dish--sometimes with a little meat and most times just stuffed with rice and herbs --easy to eat difficult to cook i am told!
İts a real miserable day here--drizzley and chilly--its a rarity thank gald!--we walked downtown to pick up my laptop and a few bits for braiding my wife's hair--she has hair extensions down to the small of her back!--she is studying the laptop instructions as i have no idea so i am sure it will all end up being ingrained with Turkish as the main language!--the keyboard has about 30 letters and when you want to use English it becomes a nightmare!
despite me saying about not spending more money we are going to look for a new bedroom for DD from ikea and Mrs De can pay into the household budget towards it--we have seperate accounts because we havent quite got things right---we are sparring around finance in our marriage--i own the house and pay all the furniture and appliances--she has said she will pay me for the car on the monthly and she has the business in her name--its all very tetchey and i would rather be more trusting but it is the way this countries laws are set up---i owned my home before we married so i cant sign it over to my wife in part ownership without great expense-anything like the business and car i own half of because we obtained it while married-doesnt make her secure i am sure!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
de1amo...my peppers have meat in them...my husband doesnt think anything without meat in it is real food........my MIL [who is originally from turkey] makes wonderful stuffed every thing..peppers ,onions, zukkini, eggplant, cabbage leaves and best of all .....vine leaves....
I feel you pain with your key board, mine also has hebrew letters on and sometimes seems to have a mind of its own switching from hebrew to english.......0 -
Taplady - I had the same for breakfast this morning.
Got my Blueberries from Aldi (one of their 69p offers)
Also bought a Butternut Squash but have no idea what to do with it.
My Mom suggested roasting it or making a soup. I will have to have a look for some recipes later.
Have sweet potatoes too and may use some of those to make sweet potato and leek soup.
Well done on winning the raffel - it was a great prize. I`m doing WW online (joined via Quidco and got cashback) so always looking for something new to try.
My raffle prize was from Aldi's too - the consultant always gets the super siz stuff as part of the prize. I might use my butternut squash and sweet potato in a curry - there's a lovely recipe in Ainsley Harriot's low fat cooking book. Its not a strong curry but it is delicious!jackieglasgow wrote: ». I'm still feeling pretty off colour, and don't know if I am back for good yet.

Afternoon all,
Very busy couple of days, but no paid work today. Got some sewing alterations to do - thank goodness for sewing machines:)
Very wet and windy here today. We had a beautiful sunny day here yesterday and things just about dried up. I was sure Mount Washmore was going to be hung out today, but no such luck. It will have to be the TD.
OK got to leave for the moment. Hugs to those in need, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.
