İ am wondering if i live in the right world--my daughter went to a disco this afternoon with her friends from school--a boy from 2 years older asked her to dance and he was very admiring--she is beautiful and willowy--she gave him her number--she is 13 and he is 15
i remember taking my first real gf of 13 to a cinema to see grease when i was 15--now that dates me!!--my wife has gone hyper and my daughter is in the dog house---is my wife being over protective??--my daughter is a very sensible girl --more so than her parents!
All mum's are overprotective, it's our job
If she is sensible and you have a good relationship with her, then why should she not 'date' this young man.
what I would fear more is that if you don't let her go... she might rebel and the consequences could be far worse for it.
At the end of the day though the decision has to come from yourselves, it is hard to answer as I don't know your daughter. Only you know her well enough to do what is right xWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. Hello everybody....not sure what happened to-day but I seemed to hang round doing very little all day, then went out to have dinner with some cousins and their mother whose 82nd birthday it was to-day....nice Chinese and met some of the family I hadn't seen for years, so pleasant evening....OH watched rugby and said that England deserved to win....sorry Welsh people.
Still very windy here, a pedestrian was killed in suburban Dublin last night by a falling branch....she apparently ran to get away but wasn't fast enough....43 years old...very sad.
Jackieg...nice to see you back posting....do look after yourself please...think problem with a lot of people, myself included is that the winter has been soo long .
Ruby....hope that everything goes well when Dad comes home.
Prettypaula....sorry to hear about your gran....hugs to both you and your dad.
Have forgotten most of what people said thread is so long and I am tired....hugs to all in need or want of one, stay safe and warm and sleep well.
Off in a minute to dig the polyfilla off.....

Well I actually had a good evening in the end. My neighbour who I went to school with saw my facebook status saying I was in on my own for the match and she invited me to hers. I felt a bit better so thought I'd pop round. Her other friend (cute male
) was there and her mum. We watched the match - boo Wales! - and ate junk food and caught up. It was a nice chilled evening and it took me 10 seconds to get home :rotfl:. I like unexpected evenings like that

She has a right to be. I am the same with my 3 girls. I guess I know what I was like and I don't expect boys have got any more decent in 30 years!NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning everyone,
this is the first time I have posted on this thread (please be gentle). I spent another sleepless night with my mind in overdrive because I was made redundant on thursday from a wonderful job I have been in for 9 years. We dont actualy shut until May and I have been given a good package, but i am in mourning for myself, and the freinds I have worked with these past nine years. I know i will move on from this but at the moment its too raw.
On top of all this my beloved old dog is ill. she has been to the vets on wednesday as she has a swollen paw, OH and I have been giving her her medicine and putting cream on her paw without fail. This morning she didnt want her breaky (laced with antibiotics) and is laying on the settee looking very sorry for herself. I think I will see how she goes and ring the vet if she doesnt pick up.
the good points of the day.....I have done my washing and its all blowing dry nicely on the line!0 -
Sorry to hear your bad news, marmite potato, Bargainbird has just started todays's thread, why not copy your post over there, so that everyone sees it? A lot of folk don't read back the old thread. And welcome to the Daily.

Thanks, will do that. x0
