Morning all! Still a bit wet and windy here, but nowhere near as bad as last night! I can see 2 planks down off the back fence, will get dressed in a bit and go out and make sure no slates are off the roof. Have decided to scrub down the bedroom walls today in the hope OH will take the subtle hint and get the paintbrushes out! The n to the ironing board I fear!!! Have a good day , haygs to whoever needs/wants one!

The mud is from the dogs I reckon. I have the same problem and so does my cleaner. Its really sticky underfoot and they keep bringing it in xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Lunch is some cous cous that needs eating up plus a bit of cottage cheese and pineapple that also needs using and maybe a few crackers.

Taplady - I had the same for breakfast this morning.
Got my Blueberries from Aldi (one of their 69p offers) :)
Also bought a Butternut Squash but have no idea what to do with it.
My Mom suggested roasting it or making a soup. I will have to have a look for some recipes later.
Have sweet potatoes too and may use some of those to make sweet potato and leek soup.

Well done on winning the raffel - it was a great prize. I`m doing WW online (joined via Quidco and got cashback) so always looking for something new to try.
  • Morning All,

I have missed you lot :) I did lurk a couple of days but I think I need to go back and catch up what wasn't on Facebook. I'm still feeling pretty off colour, and don't know if I am back for good yet. :o No work today - I have just had some porridge and have some bread on in the oven and a butternut squash roasting for risotto tonight, and a washing in the machine. I am going back to bed when its all done :)

Had a lovely dinner last night, courtesy of DS1, whom I am teaching to cook. He made pasta, fresh tomato sauce and veggie meatballs, and I let him adjust the seasoning himself - he did a great job and was very proud of himself :D as was I! Tonight I am teaching him how to make pizza dough and he's making pizza for himself and his DB, and OH and I will have the risotto,

Hugs and good wishes all round, thanks for the kind messages and pms

    morning all

had a long night with ds down the out of hours drs. didnt get back til 4.30 this morning. it was fine for ds as he slept most of the time we were down there... i'm shattered! it appears he's eaten something and it has caused a more severe reaction than normal. need to give the nursery a ring to see what food was about yesterday morning. knowing ds, he's sneakily helped himself to something whilethey werent looking. his temperature was up to nearly 40 again but dr reckons that down to his cold. it came down so they let him home. no infections or anything. typically he's brighter today. actually got up and played but its wearing off now. we're watching toy story at the moment.

os wise - i dont think i have the energy :o alan didnt realise til about 3ish this morning that we hadnt eaten :o think it will be a takeaway tonight. we're both exhausted :(

jac - good to see you back

hugs if anyone needs them. have a good day

    Morning all!

Didn't make it on here yesterday - don't think I even switched the lappy on.
:j it's Friday and double :j I'm not working. Taken dd to school and walked the doggy - very windy here too.

Going to have a big clean through today ready for the weekend, just waiting for ds1 and gf to wake up (late start at college today so giving them a bit of a lay in) then I'm going to get cracking.
I watched Marchlands too - thought it was really good, looking forward to the next episode.

I'm feeling a bit :( today cos I'm 40 tomorrow and it just feels sooo old. I don't feel grown up enough iykwim :o

Hope everyone has a good day

good morning everyone-get well soon to all those suffering.

İts an odd start to the day--we didnt make it to bed and woke up on the sofas and Mrs De isnt feeling any better --she has a bad cold with chesty cough.--İt isnt helped by the fact that last night parts of Turkey got down to -45 and the main gas pipe into the country froze and supplies have been disrupted so there is no gch now--its in plus numbers here but a little chilly where we are!

We got our new car yesterday and i had to part with 20000 odd Turkish lira --and today we had the garage onto us wanting another 300tl-120quid because the paperwork wasnt up to date on the old car--something to do with MOT certificates that my father in law hadnt kept!--hey ho it only money!!!---the new car price had actually gone up 600 quid over the period between our ordering and paying so we avoided that increase - its all swings and roundabouts. i dont actually like driving this new car so it will be for my wife's benefit--i cant get on with the sharp abs breaks in the city where it is continual stop start and idiots running red lights!!--my test drive was almost a tragic affair as a woman jump a red light i was emerging into---i slammed the anchors on and almost had us through the windscreen!---it is a car which stops and starts itself when you go into neutral--its most disconcerting as the horns blair as your stalled in the middle of a traffic light!--i will stick to my scooter!!

Looks like i will finally get my lap top today---we ordered it 10 days ago from the telecom company at the same time as having wireless and uprated gb service at home--and it clogged their computer up having 2 things to deal with at the same time and it became a battle of wills!--i wanted to cancel everything with them but apparently the contracts were struck despite them giving crap service! you dont know you are born back in the uk for customer services!--the only attraction to go with them was getting 36 months interest free credit on the payment for the lappie--even BT are better than them!
Anyway the day is wet and cool here--i have 3 days off but will go to work to keep warm and not pay for it!--i wanted to go to our holiday home but its even cooler there and the place has no heat source at all.--Pretty useless for the 3 months of the year which is called winter here.---roll on summer when it is too hot!!
Mrs De is cooking a lovely stew in the kitchen--i helped her stir things which brought back memmories of when i used to cook--i really enjoyed it but i havent cooked anything for 4 years because its not men's work and she doesnt approve of my cuisine!!-i do a particularly unhealthy spag bol!!--i tried it on her once in the uk and she decided i was no cook!!--i used buy in a bottle sauce and she sees that as warming up food not real cooking.

Right time to get dressed and move myself into the passenger seat of the new car--its too wet today to ride my bike and we are both going to keep the same schedule at school today--i want to come home early and will force her to have a short day because she is ill!
    Takecare everyone
    mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.
