Has anyone else been reading the contented little baby? Evryone I speak to says it is utter rubbish and on the internet the reviews she gets are very marmite. But Im thinking I might borrow some tips from it. It really does explain everything down to the last detail. The only part im having trouble understanding is when you give bubs first feed of the morning ,it says to express other breast then once youve changed bubs nappy and got him/her ready for nap try offering the breast youve just expressed from for ten mins before you put bubs down. To me it reads like while your feeding bubs first feed of the day off of one boob your supposed to be expressing second boob? LOL scared to ask anyone in real life cause as soon as Ive mentioned that Ive been reading that book you get a big tut and more advice crammed down your throatThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

12 more working days then im on maternity leave.
i literally cannot wait, im just so sleepy all the time!
my work are doing a baby sweepstake on gender and weight, im slightly worried that of the 10 people on the list so far, no one thinks my baby will be under 8lbs with the majority in the 9lbs region:eek:0 -
Anderson I wouldnt worry most people have picked big weights for me but when questioned they said my bump is tiny and I dont look pregnant from behind at all , so for that reason they think the small bump I have is mostly baby and no fat.Im trying to see it as a laugh and not take it personal, lolThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Hi guys don't often post but always read, am feeling really strange at the mo, work have got my replacement which feels very odd as I'm not due till 29th Sept but only work term times so I actually only have 16 days of work left!!! It's kind of made it all real, also my OH is being made redundant in a couple of weeks time and although he's been to several interviews we are still waiting to hear any news. It was quite out of the blue so we are gutted, luckily this is baby #3 so we have most things but it's horrible not being able to feel I can buy things if I see them and like them!
Sorry for the moan, hope everyone is well, just needed to vent0 -
Mrs T- Try not to worry too much , you will get there. My OH has is own business and from one week to the next we dont know if he will have work.. but we cope. I felt sad when my replacement started , now I cant wait to leave ,lol. Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Hm, since I had my fall my bump doesnt seem to be as hard as it was before. Should I be concerned? Husband was the one to notice but now I see his point.:j0

I read it and used it with DD1, she slept through from 10 weeks (8pm - 6am) plus an hour in the morn and 2 hours at lunchtime, i wouldn't follow it as strictly this time but will still use some of the main points. It can be hard going for the first few weeks but it does pay off.
The main things i will stick to this time are: night time is 7pm-7am so keep the room dark and dont talk to baby during this time as it stimulates them and wakes them, and also use blackout blinds - these are great for telling baby its bedtime and also ensure baby doesnt wake up early due to it being light outside.
Everyone is different and you are right that some people think its too militant, but they cant knock it if they haven't tried it!!xDue 26th July, team yellow0 -

Prob means baby has changed position, i wouldnt worry unless you dont feel them kicking - this is the sign that they are happy in thereDue 26th July, team yellow0 -
Thanks Missyy- Ive heard on the internet that if you just use it as a guide that it can work well... but as you say you need to put the effort in. Im just struggling to get to grips with her advice on expressing. Ive let my OH have a look at the book aswell and it seems he's happy for us to give it a go, It looks as if it can help partner be more involved aswell which is a good thing. I.E dad can be doing bath or helping lay the top and tail bowl out in the morning etc Im a very structured person so it appeals to me but I can understand why people would be put off after reading , it , lolThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!
