My worries are daft, i know they are, but still have them, worry that im not talking to bump - everyone says i should be, also i have lots and lots of moments where i forget that i am pregnant, picking up things i am told i shouldnt, bumping into things becuase i forget i have a bump now etc, also worrying about how this baby is going to get out, ideally i would like a vbc with no pain relief but not sure how realistic that is or if i can do it, worrying about leaving my friends and work and all the challenges that brings.

Bah, if all i have to moan about are my own silly worries it cant be too bad can it :)

    Puzzled x

I don't talk to bump :o because I feel like an idiot if I do lol! I sort of talk to her in my head - I figure she is inside so must be able to read my mind :rotfl:
I also bump into things too and squidge bump against things - I have no spatial awareness anymore lol!
I also love the idea of no pain relief etc, but I saw my sister give birth last year and once she had the epidural she was able to text and update her facebook no problem so at least I know I have that option!:D

Tbh I don't think Ill stop worrying until baby is here - then Im sure there will be a whole new set of worries to contend with!

So Apricot can also relate as today has been a bad food day too for me, am sooo hungry... do you reckon it's because neither of us slept well? Seems a concidence. I am embarassed to say I had a couple of scoops of ice cream when I got home today, and I never do that straight after work!

Thanks for the comments re: the discharge, thing is the amount is increasing and i find I have to change as soon as I get home as there is a slight smell, then I feel more comfortable. It's not a terrible smell, just i guess I'm aware of it more.

But now am worried if i should call the midwife?

Your pregnant - it's allowed if that's what baby wants! :D

With regards to the discharge maybe make a doctor appointment? TMI but I had thrush earlier on and when I told MW she told me I had to make a doctor appointment anyway as she couldn't prescribe me anything.

OH met up with a friend the other day (34 weeks gone) who was a little surprised at our lack of shopping/preparation for baby's arrival - we just haven't really got used to the idea yet that our lives are going to change completely and we're not really the types to buy in advance just in case we need something - we're more lets make do until we absolutely have to have it. At this rate baby's coming home in a pashmina sling on the bus.

:rotfl: You have plenty of time. I started buying quite early but tbh it probably meant I spent more than I needed too so you have the right idea. As long as baby has something to wear and somewhere to sleep you'll be fine!

    Evening all

Haven't had much of a chance to post recently despite now being on maternity leave - was half term last week and we moved house the weekend before so really hectic!

The previous occupants had 2 large dogs and it reeks of dog in here :(
OH has so far cleaned the carpets 3 times but it's not making as much difference as I would have liked - anytips on how to get rid of the smell most welcome.
I know I'm not an animal lover myself but how someone could let their house smell like this one I've no idea :o
Fortunately we only have a 6 month let and the sale of our own properties should be complete so we can buy somewhere a little less whiffy!

Hope everyone is well - I'm 36 +2 now and feeling the usual woes, imsomnia, leg cramps, sore hips and general tiredness and discomfort but on countdown now till the 24th :j

DD is so excited and so am I now - I can't wait to meet her :)

    Evening all,

Thanks for sharing your worries too :) i dont feel quite so much of a freak now :) I know that there will be lots to worry about over the coming months and years but i am just feeling a bit out of my depth.

We havent really bought much at all for baby and there is still so much more to go that its a bit daunting, although we have lots of hand me downs and second hand bits that are making their way to us so we are definately getting there - i just sometimes wish we could set up the nursery now but never mind.

Hope everyone has a good evening!

GB wish i could suggest something for the carpets - would good old baking soda left on over night do the trick?
  • :rotfl: I keep bumping into things too... got myself wedged in a friend's bathroom door the other day! Me too! I keep trying to file things at work but don't allow enough room to pull the draw out and then find myself trying to shuffle backwards while crouching down and trying not to lose my balance!

Haven't posted much recently as I've been really busy at work etc
Only got 8 weeks to go and so I'm having to tie up lots of loose ends for the person taking over. Baby seems to find desk work very entertaining and does somersaults/kicks for hours in office and then is very quiet when we visit anyone.

I have my 28 week appointment on Monday and am excited about being measured (first time for a fundal measurement as last time I'd had a scan the day before so there wasn't much point) - hopefully the midwife will be able to explain a bit about how to recognise baby's position too as I can't ever feel any big lumps unless baby happens to be kicking right there and then - I am obviously a very comfortable and squidgy baby carrier and can't believe that baby can be that big inside me without obvious lumps.

I did my first proper bit of shopping last week too... I am now the proud owner of 2 reusable nappies bought in a very posh shop from their clearance bin. I still can't bring myself to buy anything else and so the sum total of baby things is a free nuby breast pump, 2 nappies and a whole lot of wool for mummy made booties etc hmmm... going to have start shopping soon  I'm 21 weeks and haven't bought a thing. We are rennovating our house so that's taking priority at the moment. I've sent off for the free Nuby breast pump and also the bumgenius reuable nappy.

Going home now to check on my roof leak and finish my baby's beanie x

    Lots of love to all

ps sorry my posts are so self obsessed and a bit diary-like (I feel a bit rubbish commenting on others given my complete lack of experience) Finding that posting is helping me track my feelings about things though - anyone else weepy at the gmail TV advert - 'emails from dad'?

Please don't feel bad about posting how you feel and where you're up to. I don't post often but read every day and I find everybody's posts useful even if I don't have the time or energy to respond. It's great to know that there are other people who are going through similar experiences :o

Galvaniser great news on the move, not so good on the whiffy doggy smell - but baking soda left overnight will help some, maybe give that a go, might cost a bit though so in the end you may prefer something like the Febreeze powder for carpets, think you can get a special pet version.

Puzzledbubbles, same here wehave some stuff, but nursery is nowhere near organised, as we will have my mum staying in there before bubs arrives, so it feels very messy and not ready at the mo!

My feet are swollen still even though overnight they normally improve as I have been lying flat. Also (TMI sorry) my knickers were a bit wet this morming (not wee), different to the discharge which is still not back to the usual whiteish colour, so I am tempted to call midwife. I think though she may only be at the docs on Thursdays.

Morning ladies, i hope no one minds me butting in. Sparkle (i hope i've remembered the right username) asked about discharge? I remember in my last pregnancy, that the last two months I had a LOT of discharge, i had to change my undies or liner frequently because of it. I felt a bit self conscious, but all was normal so i tried not to worry too much.

Then my nipples began to leak slightly, the joys eh?! :D

I'm 12 weeks today, looking forward to my next scan next week (for the nuchal scan)-just to have a look at the baby again.

Don't want to sound rude, but my sex drive seems to have suddenly increased (and my dodgy tummy seems to have settled down more now) and on a negative side i've been having horrible dreams/nightmares. I've had a lot on my mind, so i think it might be to do with worrying over things.

I'm currently making the most of some lazy days at home, with my two year old. I find it hard to imagine sharing him with a little brother or sister! :)
