I had terrible heartburn in my last pregnancy-right up to the hour before i gave birth. My son was born with very dark hair-a fair amount too. Shame it all fell out not long after! It then grew back a dark blonde/brown colour! He was bald for ages when it first came out.

Lirin if you are struggling with back pain speak to your midwife about maybe taking something stronger than paracetamol as opiate based painkillers such as cocodamol are considered safe during pregnancy although anti inflamatories like diclofenac aren't. It may help your suffering a bit.
Keely I am waiting to meet this baby first before I commit to either believing or disbelieving the link to hair as I have only had occasional waves of heartburn at odd times of the day and night this time round!0 -
Thanks Koala. It's been ongoing a week or so now- I did phone in to the midwife, who was fairly unsympathetic- it's not a severe pain, just a dull throb that worsens during the day. I have tried everything so far.... TBH, even before Hitchhiker, I wouldn't be a great fan of taking anything- my Dad thinks I got this off him! I'm seeing her in a week or so- forget the date- written on my post-it pad, will read when I remember where I left it- so I'll ask again then.0

Morning All
Had a horrendous night's sleep last night. Think I had the first lot of braxton hicks - thought they were not meant to be painful but the definitely were! Thankfully they haven't carried on this morning!
Welcome over Hayley!
I have awful heartburn - whether I eat or not - am really hoping for a baby with a head full of hair!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
I am not usually a fan of taking meeds either but sometimes the pain and discomfort makes it unfeasible to avoid them
. Call your gp and ask about over the counter stuff as they may be more sympathetic.

I had terrible heartburn with all 3 of my previous pregnancies & all 3 were born with masses of dark curly hair.
This time it's been bad too but I know Harrison will have lots of hair anyway as we all do in my family so I don't know if it's related to the heartburn or not.
My midwife told me it's the baby pressing on your stomach that causes the heartburn so who knows.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Hope everyone is well. My first baby is due 22nd September, fortunate enough to be having a pretty straight forward pregnancy so far. Unfortunate enough to be at work at 3am with a baby with hiccups though!
It'll be nice to chat to other expecting mummies, haven't got any close friends who are currently expecting.
xx
Hi Hayley :hello:.

I don't think I had braxton hicks with my previous pregnancies unless ive just forgotten.
This time however i've been having them for a while now & sometimes they are so bad I can't move. :eek:I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Hey ladies!
I've had an awful weekend so haven't been online much at all .... I'm in soooo much pain now it's really getting to me. It's now in my back as well as the symphysis pubis joint at the front and I'm lucky if I manage to sleep for an hour at a time at the moment. I'm almost living in the bath for pain relief. I cannot wait to get this baby out!!!
Had a total meltdown over the weekend as it suddenly dawned on me I had to give birth ... I feel so silly as I've done it 3 times before, but for some reason I'm bricking it this timeI don't feel at all mentally prepared for it. My bag is all packed and ready to go.
Got the consultant on Friday and I really hope they take pity and give me an induction date
Good luck to all the boldies, and congratulations to anyone who's given birth since I last posted xxxxxxxOlympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Hi all
For those with problem fingers and hands, ie numbness, tingling, pain.
i spoke to my midwife this morning and it is carpal tunnel syndrome, highly common in pregnancy apparently and i should make an appointment with my physio and get wrist splints.0
