Morning all just nipping on quickly. Hope you all managed to get some sleep last night. Have my scan in an hour!!! Just drunk a pint of water and have a cold bottle of water ready to sip before I go in to get baby moving. So bricking it lol!
Good luck with your scanMommy to Elliot (5) and Lewis (born xmas eve 11!)0 -
Puzzled- thank you. Bump still feels very big, though that's maybe because I don't hav a flat stomach anymore. 43 inches around- measured this morning. Rant and moan on here if you like- in regards to forgetting about bump- don't worry. I'm 30, and still forget I have size 9 feet.... you'd think I'd remember now after breaking toes a few times in the past! I constantly forget about my bump, though it has it's uses. It holds my popcorn in the cinema!
Trust me, I've been through every emotion, sometimes, in the space of 30 mins! I carry post-it notes to remind me of everything, or set reminders on my phone. I'm normally calm and rational, yet now I enjoy arguing with taxi-drivers when they cut me up in town. I have no patience whatsoever, which could be a prime reason why my normally suspect cooking skills have turned completely rubbish- I get bored and toss things in to see what they taste like.
Galvaniser- this will work. Trust me. I have two perpetually smelly mutts who are convinced they're the sweetest most lovable bundles of adult-sized wonderfulness. Open windows, chop a couple of onions in half and leave around a few places. Onion will draw out the smell from air. The open windows will draw the smell of onion out. For carpets, sofas etc, carpet shampoo from Asda will do nicely. You'll still notice the smell, it will just take a while and a few applications to dissapate. I used to use a recipe involving a shampoo made from mayo on carpets as well, but can't remember it, and it was a lot of work. Baking soda also does work- sprinkle it on carpets and leave for five mins or so, then hoover off.
Forum- I sometimes feel the same- I feel a little self-obsessed at times, and think all my posts are moaning about my sore back-0 -

It's pretty similar way at my work Lab- I'm blamed for everything it feels like, and allowed to do nothing! (That's maybe teary hormones kicking in a little as well....) With me, I've seen the mistakes being made, but my opinion is getting ignored, then when it does all go wrong, I'm given off to because I should have said something at the time.... Short of banging a few heads together there isn't much I can do!0 -

Morning girls!
Well I actually slept last night :j
Feel so energised today as a result. I put the spare duvet on the bed and slept on that for some extra padding and I can't believe what a difference it made. I still had the ripping pain in my pelvis when I tried to turn over, but no burning pain from laying on my hips which is what stops me from sleeping for more than an hour at a time.
Had lots of braxton hicks last night and today I have a bit of a loose tummyso I hope things are starting to happen. I think if I had just a little sign that it was going to start within the next few days I would feel better :rotfl:If only it was that easy to predict
Just had half an hour of baby preparation:- isofix car seat base fitted and tested for when the time comes
- cot mattress unwrapped from plastic sheeting to air before the bedding goes on
- waterproof mat ready to go on bed once sheets have dried on the line
Galvanisersbaby - I would give Febreze spray a try for the smell on the carpets, until you can hire/borrow a carpet machine, and lots of windows open for a good airing I have a Vax carpet cleaner I would happily lend you, but I would imagine you live no where near me to borrow it
Re vaginal discharge - mine has definitely increased over the last few weeks and is quite milky .... I keep hoping every time I go to the loo and wipe that I'll have something a little bit more show-like, but so far no such luck
I think I need to sit and think about writing some form of birth plan today .... there used to be one in the maternity notes you filled in, but these green notes just seem to have a check list of topics midwife is supposed to discuss with you - and given that I'm not seeing mine until 38 weeks, I think that's a bit late to leave it! Is there a template one anywhere?Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Congrats on the scan Kandboys
mrsspendalot - there's the template nhs birth plan here
sparkle - sorry to say that the swollen feet may be here to stayI have the same sort of discharge, especially at night, some of the wetness though I think might be sweat? No harm in calling the midwife. I've seen the GP and midwife for thrush and they didn't even bother examining me just gave me the pessary and cream!
Well, spent most of the morning in and out of the bathroom, can't tell if it's the start of something or ibs though.0
