Lirin sounds like you had a lovely weekend except for the pain that is :). Are things improving any with DSDs diet? :o

Doglover believe it or not once they are washed either asda or tesco sheets fit it fine.....sorry I can't remember which as I bought both but will check later and let you know. :D. I got an Airwrap bumper last time as it went the full way round including the drop side. Standard cot bumpers don't fit at all well but blankets are all fine. :D.

Hi, thanks a lot, that's really helpful. I'd defo be interested to know which sheets you got and where you got the bumper. I can't wait to see the cot in real life! We got the rest of the furniture from eBay but a new cotbed. If you know how and willing to I'd love it if you would put a piccie of your nursery on here? And everyone else!!

Are you all having a chair in the nursery? I haven't decided but think it'd be really handy.

We are having the living room !!!!!! upstairs and we have a chair in the batroom which might relocate - although we havent got masses of room, if we did i might be lusting after a rocking chair :)

Hope everyone is drier than us!!!!

Welcome Newbies and Good luck boldies i am inching my way up the list, 25 weeks now and all is calm lol :rotfl:

I have made some decisions about work after my chat with the midwife i do need to calm down and they do need to start letting me rest more so i am going to beign by having an extra 30 mins in bed - this will still get me to work on time for contract hours but means the hour/ hour and a half extra i have been doing every morning will be stopping.

I know it doesnt sound like much but little setps in the right direction :)

    Hi ladies and bumps :j

What a horrible day in South Manchester today. Have spent my bank holiday monday rewriting my CV in advance of my interview for the job I have been told I have to apply for which I won't even get coz I'll be going head to head with my boss. :( How ridiculous am I going to feel waddling into an interview at 8 months pregnant???

Oh well, only 4 days till the last holiday before bubs arrives. My 6 month old niece is coming with us though so that should be good practice:rotfl:

I think we are planning to have a chair in our nursery - we have seen one in Ikea which my SIL recommended but we haven't got it yet.

Why would you need a chair in the nursery?

Night feeds mine have always been dragged into my bed.. a chair would be filled with piles of crap in about 3 seconds!

I am looking at second hand chairs on Ebay. The reasons for wanting one are because Im scared of taking the baby into my bed incase I fall asleep with him (which I probably would!) and I wont know what is happening with him, I dont want to put him at risk. I didnt even think about a chair until recently but now I have Im seeing the plus side of having it. Although we do have a sofa bed in the nursery I dont want to use that either as that can be even more dangerous for baby! They do say dont sleep on the sofa with babies afterall.

You will fall asleep in a chair too.. and it is a greater fall to the floor and more chance you would drop baby as yours arms wouldn't be supported.

I've taken all of mine in my bed.. they are usually on top of the duvet and are on top of my arm so held securely .. so the worst that can happen is they roll onto the floor.. I have only done this once.. and landed on the pillow that was there... I throw pillows off the bed while asleep quite often.

Sitting in bed to feed then putting him back in the cot would be safer.. if you did fall asleep he would roll onto the bed rather than the floor.

It is also recommended they are in your room until 6 months by which time you would expect most to be sleeping though. If they sleep in there during the day you wouldn't be sat wtaching them I'd guess ;)

Doglover I tried out the sheets again and although both asda and tesco ones fit the tesco jersey cotbed sheets are the better fit of the two. :D. The sheets I currently have are 18 months old but I don't imagine that sizes will have changed all that much in that time. :o. I will be buying new sheets for this baby honestly I just haven't got round to getting them yet as she will be in her crib to start with. :). The bumper I have is the four sided air wrap bumper which kiddicare sell for £24.99. You can get it cheaper elsewhere I think but I just went for somewhere that I know I could rely on. :o. The four sided one works great as one section goes round the three fixed sides and the other section attaches to the drop side. :D.

Puzzled please just remember to look after yourself as experience has taught me that no matter how good other peoples intentions are to look after you things come up and other things get forgotten about very quickly. :o

Clarieloo please don't underestimate yourself or your abilities. Just because the person you are up against is currently your boss does not automatically make them the best candidate you may fulfill more of their current selection criteria than your boss does. :D

I don't have a nursery chair as such but a little but a little tub style chair from ikea. It would not suit everybody but I am not very tall so it is the perfect size for me and the arms and back on it were a perfect height for leaning against to stand up and sit down after my last c section. I think it cost £40.00 and has the added bonus of being fake leather so is very easy to clean if baby is sick. :D

Hi, thanks for all your comments about the chair. I'm swaying towards a tub or similar because it should be sufficient but not cosy enough to drift off in?! Famous last words.
