Does anybody else suffer from bleeding due to a low placenta? I'm 19 + 4 and have been checked out at the hospital twice over the past fortnight due to bleeding. They have told me it is just the placenta and everything else looks fine. As I only bleed for an hour or so each time I've been told to try not to worry and take it easy but phone if it happens again.
TMI ALERT -It seems to happen whenever I have a BM, even when I'm not straining. I know it's just the placenta but I still find it distressing to see bright red blood, even though I know what's causing it if that makes sense?
Just wondered if anyone else has this? Thanks

Sorry Waitingforpost I have no experience of this at all so can't offer any helpful advice. :(. Is your hospital providing any additional support at all as I imagine that this must be very worrying and unsettling for you? :o
  • The midwives and doctors have been brilliant and really thorough both times I've been seen to. They say there's not really much they can do as eveything else seems fine - they did scan me for ages to check placenta, fluid, cervix etc. I just have to phone if happens again (which it does every few days)!

Welcome Wonder Womble! Hope you are feeling well so far. Not had any experience with a TENS machine although I think my friend hired one from Boots.

Waiting for post you poor thing! How scary. I had a bleed at nearly 14 weeks and it scared me so much. They still don't know what caused it. I get scared everytime I visit the toilet now to the extent that I have realised I don't drink much so that I don't need to go to the loo - stupid huh? I'm glad they see you and reassure you that baby is ok though. I'm only about a week behind you (18+2) so will follow your posts xxx

Glad to hear that you are getting decent support WFP. :D

Meant to say that we built babys cot today and put the mattress still in it's wrapper in it. :D. Somebody a while ago but am sorry I can't remember who asked what I thought of the Boori nursery furniture that I had bought and I stand by my statement that it is really good. :). It took less than 10 mins to unbox unwrap and fully assemble a drop side cot and the under cot drawer and it looks beautiful too as well as being just as sturdy as the last one we had. :)

Good morning and happy bank holiday everybody. :D

Nothing at all to report here so just wanted to send lots of labour vibes to the ladies who need them and hope that those who are panicking about baby prep manage to get lots done today. :D

    Becky- Congratulations! :)

Waiting for Post- My first pregnancy, so can't really comment, but my sister bled badly throughout her two pregnancies. I could be wrong, but as far as I remember it was a similar situation to yours, and barring monitoring her more, I don't think much was done.

    Womble- welcome!

I've had quite a sore back- very low, in my tailbone area- for the last week and a half. Will leave a message on the midwife's answering machine later- don't know what they can do though. It's uncomfortable enough to keep me awake most of the last three nights, and I have a beanbag cushion I swiped from one of the cars to sit on at work- otherwise it's sore.
Was my birthday yestarday, and Hobbit planned a meal and a movie, allowing a few hours sleep time after the meal- fat cat syndrome- for me. I still dozed during the movie, but it was good! Gave him time as well to play DoD, an online war game.... So everyone happy. :)
My SD is big enough to reach the pedals in the car- she's 10- so had her learning to reverse the car yestarday. Nothing major, but a few tricks now makes it easier to teach her later- I taught 3 of my sisters to drive as they didn't like my dad shouting at them! :) She did well, and such a grin I got when she did it right the second time she tried. (Doesn't mean I'm letting her anywhere near a road for a long time yet though!)

Hi ladies! I don't post much but always read.

I've reached 29 weeks (well I will have on Wed). Not that much to report - I get back ache, mainly at night, need the loo a lot and I'm turning into a chunk. I've been lucky so far as it seems to have been quite easy symptom wise so I'm sure my last 11 weeks will include some payback!

Koala - I've also got the Boori stuff and our cotbed should be arriving on Wed. Glad to know it's been quite easy to assemble. Do standard size bedding bits (other than sheets) fit ok? I've ordered sheets and a mattress protector for it but I'm not sure about the other bedding bits.

Good luck to the boldies and welcome all newbies

Lirin sounds like you had a lovely weekend except for the pain that is :). Are things improving any with DSDs diet? :o

Doglover believe it or not once they are washed either asda or tesco sheets fit it fine.....sorry I can't remember which as I bought both but will check later and let you know. :D. I got an Airwrap bumper last time as it went the full way round including the drop side. Standard cot bumpers don't fit at all well but blankets are all fine. :D.

Yes they are- had a chat with Granny and just said she was starting to act picky, would she mind terribly helping us out by giving little DSD the same as us? Worked brilliantly this weekend, Granny fully onboard... always handy.
