He is an athlete and rugby player and they kept saying looking at his body was their bit of light relief after working on the CS and he could do the skin to skin as long as he wanted to. He was so embarrassed bless him! They said they'd never seen the dad insist on doing the skin to skin before and wished more showed an interest in it (perhaps they wanted to see more male bodies...).

Your DH has been sexually harassed :(;)

Can't remember who mentioned PND earlier but I am so worried about it. I also feel like a really horrible person because I'd rather have baby wiped and stuff before being handed over to me... :s I just don't like the idea of baby still covered in my insides being put near to my face. I've also always felt uneasy about the thought of a baby breastfeeding, which is why I'm bottle feeding. People keep saying 'Oh it'll be different once you've given birth because you'll love it.' They don't seem to understand that it's not based on whether I love it or not, it's just a matter of preference, I guess. I do worry though that I won't love it or I won't really want it enough, which sounds terrible, but it's something that's been bothering me.

Honey I felt just the same about b/f, though I did it, and having the baby wiped. You have enough to worry about without beating yourself up about this. I worried I wouldn't love her as much as I loved the DOG!!

I didn't quite decline everything. Bizarrely the thing she seemed most annoyed about was my declining to be weighed. I did agree to one consultant appointment because she said she'd get into trouble if she hadn't referred me. And I didn't tell her I'm not having the 13 week scan since she never asked/told me.

Her problem that she's annoyed. Well done for sticking to your guns.

When I had a CS with DS 19 months ago, he had to go to DH for skin to skin while they stitched me back up.

This was written in my birth plan for him to do if it wasn't possible for me to, and the look of joy on the female staffs faces when he whipped his gown off to do the skin to skin was hilarious!

And they dry shaved me with a disposable razor when prepping me for the op, I'd had epidural so couldn't feel it, just wondered what this scraping noise was and saw them doing it.

They do still do it then! - I will try harder not to giggle this time :D - they dry shaved with an electric razor (just at the top part soon after I got changed in to my gown (it was a planned c section) - I did ask if I should shave the area beforehand when I went in the 2nd time to have DD but they said better not to and to leave it to them for risk of infection, lol!

Wow what a chatty lot, I've not read through all the posts so sorry if I've missed anything!

Well developed a full blown headache this afternoon and ended up really sick bah! Hey ho what can you do.

I am getting some serious BH's again, they are really uncomfortable! DH is standing laughing and saying "how funny would it be if a head popped out?" erm well not very funny at all considering I am sitting on my new sofa ;):D

Nic that's really great you have met someone you can have coffee and a good ol' chinwag with.

One thing I wanted too was DD wiped over before being handed to me but when the time came I didn't mind and she really wasn't very gooey at all.:o

I don't see any particular benefit to it. If I had no idea of my dates for some reason then I would have gone for it but I know when I ovulated and don't see any other reason to have it.

You could be having twins

aw Pixie, its your baby so you do what ever you feel comfortable with. xx

Is it worth buying a doppler? I know he is healthy and I feel him moving but since the news about AH at the weekend.... x

In 2 minds about this - I've heard they can be more of a worry as it can get quite tricky to locate the heartbeat at certain times/positions etc... even for the professionals
  • Stil having BH. Every 5-10 minutes. I'm not getting my hopes up. They might go away like last time. I do feel like I need a poo when I get them though, but I know I don't need a poo IYKWIM.

DH is making a graph of them (BH, not poos) to check their frequency, standard deviation and duration.

Ooooo, here's the next one. Belly could be bounced off it's that tight.

Persuaded DH to have takeaway tonight. Question is, pizza, curry or chinese??

I imagine it would be nice if labour was so unintense that the baby just popped out but not at eleven weeks before your due date!
