madbird - That reminds me. I asked OH if he would like to be able to cut the cord (provided he gets here in time) and he turned a funny shade of grey/green as he shook his head for like five minutes. I assumed it was a no :P

Did you get a grimace too?

I was really impressed with DH it came up in conversation before hand and I said surely you don't want to cut the cord and he was pretty non commital but when it came to it he quite happily done it, not sure if I could have.

    Evening all,

Having a really random money day, started with getting HIp grant in account and then got bad news about car and how much that would costs and then got home and had a cheque from insurance company for my excess as apparently claim i made over a year ago has been settled in my favour . Not quite made it all even but settled the blow a lot!

Nic - that is so nice you met someone you could have a good chat with. I don't really know anyone round here so will efinately be looking for ways to meet people.

:rotfl: Similar reaction to my OH, he is agreeing to a home birth "as long as he doesn't have to touch any matter" - his words. Tbh that's the reason I want my mum to come too - he is very squeamish (much worse than me) and Im worried he might faint!

No grimace. Literally the colour just drained from his face and he started shaking it. He did look like he was trying not to be sick though. I reckon he'll faint during the birth.

I didn't quite decline everything. Bizarrely the thing she seemed most annoyed about was my declining to be weighed. I did agree to one consultant appointment because she said she'd get into trouble if she hadn't referred me.

Sounds like you have an ****y mw tbh and from what youve said about wishes being ignored during labour last time I just have to say Im glad I dont live near you lol. My mw care last time was second to none and although im not impressed this time their certainly not as bad as the miserable lot you seem to be attracting!!

Apricot - your quote "as long as he doesn't have to touch any matter" made me :rotfl:
My oh is not squeemish but I would feel squeemish about him cutting the cord tbh

ETA: Sorry, that's probably very rude of me towards anyone who does wish to engage in placentophagy. And I know some cultures do still use it medicines so sorry if I caused anyone offence.
