Lol MrsS im sure your hubby would be over the moon. OH came out of IKEA visibly shocked once we had bought all bubs furniture. I wouldnt mind but it was me that paid for it all , plus he obviously hasnt looked at the prices Mothercare etc charge for a cot. We got all the furniture , cot and sprung mattress and sheets for the price of a cot and basic mattress from Mothercare

Mine has been taken away from me before Ive even touched it , lol MIL has buggy bit and chassis , my mum has carrycot and carseat.Bella , the red is so nice , I liked that and the green. My mum is collecting a pram from her friend next week, she wanted one for at her house to save me having to fill car up with all the kit everytime we visit, so one of her friends has given her their old pram. Its an M&P's one , no idea which, think it could be the pilko prammette , so should hopefully get to play with that next week, lol

viability today :j and have a lovely bouncing/kicking thing inside waiting for its photo op in this afternoon's scan - shall post a piccy when I can tomorrow...

ps got my free nuby pump over the weekend so a reminder to all those with 20week scan photos to share - hope its still on! OH had quite a time pumping various parts of his arm, face and yes his own nipple
:rotfl: Mine came last week, really quick I thought. It's the manual one. Still in box though so no temptation for OH ;) Yay for viability. A week to go for me.
My plan is to save for a Quinny Buzz so from a year old I can have one of those, and it would last then until walking time. I won't need the carrycot or car seat bit by that time either.

If you're not averse to used things, I just bought a 2nd hand frame, pushchair seat, basket, footmuff and raincover on eBay for £100. Haven't picked it up yet so not sure of the condition.

And.. colours of pushchairs.. having vast pushchair experience I wouldn't consider anything that wasn't black or very dark.. and never navy.
Why not navy? Personal preference or some well experienced logic?

It never matches the childrens coats.. :o and if it gets dirty the grease marks show up a lot more than on other colours.. and are impossible to shift. Plus it is the colour old ladies wear!

    I HATE navy!

LOL my Silver Cross is navy and white pattern .... and it's immaculate. Maybe it's the fabric, but my kids have eaten sausage rolls and allsorts in it and there are no grease marks whatsoever. It looks brand new.

In fact, it's this pram http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/silver-cross-pram-/270746942523?pt=UK_Baby_BabyTravel_Pushchairs_GL&hash=item3f09c67c3b
But I have a proper carry cot for mine too before the seat unit which adjusts as shown in the pic

I've just bought a navy carrycot. Not my first choice but it was cheap I'm too much of a moneysaver to pay more for a different colour, especially when it'll only be used for a few months.

It can look quite smart but reminds me of school uniform. And navy shoes!!! They should definitely be confined to grannyville if they're leather.

My pushchair is turquoise. Hardly practical but something made me press "buy". I suppose it'd suit a boy or girl. And I expect I'll switch to a lightweight buggy sooner rather than later so not that bothered overall.

Has anyone bought/used a Widgey nursing pillow? Are they worth the money?

I bought a couple of V pillows from Argos for feeding last time .... but am wondering whether one of these might be better?

At ante-natal the breastfeeding lady suggested just using a normal bed pillow for breast feeding. They didnt go into the topic of breast feeding very much just told us that if we want to breast feed then after bubs is born we will get help with latching on etc and a special breast feeding person comes to your house for the first five days just to see how your coping then after that your health visitor comes and can also advise but the local mums and health centre have set up a breast feeding support group that meets every week for tea and biscuits and she said that some of the people that go have toddlers but still go to share their advice and maybe tell you things that you wouldnt get from a nurse of health visitor. When I told my mum she said it was fantastic as when she had us you basically got told to get on with it and if it hurt it was because you werent doing it right
