Thanks for the tips lirin and SmlSave. I was a passenger in the car so probably could have laid the seat back and lifted my feet. I started panicking because thought I was going to throw up but didn't have anything to contain it and really didn't fancy using the footwell. So I made husband pull over so I could sit down and get some fresh air by the side of the road. I told him it's his fault, he bored me silly by bombarding me with statistics about fuel consumption and 0-60 times on the cars he's been researching for our next car. It was enough to make anyone pass out! Little B has started doing somersaults in there and I can now feel kicks around my belly button which is making me a bit queasy. I'll try the counting or talking next time too.
A tip for pelvic floor exercises: I try and do mine morning and night while brushing my teeth. 2 minutes twice a day when I'm not doing much else is easier to remember I find.0 -
Winnie_in_Pooh wrote: »I've got one like that too MrsS - had a large package delivered yesterday, some sort of external harddrive NAS box thing. It was a bargain at £130, he couldn't leave it there (on ebay!) but its ok because he's got stuff he can sell to make the money back. The stuff he's supposed to be selling to pay for the building work on the house.
Wish I had the answer to get him to *think* before he acts, he feels bad now because we can't afford to buy the pram we chose but not bad enough to send the NAS box back or sell it on
This could be my DH
He bought something off ebay for his hobby after we agreed that he would raise the money first through selling some old stuff. He made about 2/3 of the cash needed and then paid for the item on a credit card. So the other 1/3 of the cost is sat on a credit card incurring interest. He hasn't done anything about selling the remaining items to raise the difference, but now he's suggesting he will sell this stuff to make the £9 - erm, what about the £160 you owe the credit card already???
I wouldn't mind, but I really wanted a Quinny Buzz pram but have a lovely (great condition) Silver Cross 3-in-1 in storage at my Nanna's. I went to look at it, and there is literally not a mark on it (and I've had it 11 years since my first) so I just couldn't justify the cost of a Quinny.
I budget £50 a month at the moment for him to use towards his hobby, which is more than I would like to, but it is an expensive hobby, related to his study, and I'd rather he spent it on his hobby than in the pub or on fags. His budget is temporarily stopped until the remainder of his ebay purchase is paid off the credit card. It's the only way I'm ever going to get him to realise he can't spend on a blank cheque.
Oh, and we have one of those NAS drive things too (must be a gadget blokes simply have to have) - we got one around Dec/Jan time I think - a £90 'bargain' from CurrysOlympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Start feeding the menfolk beans on toast for dinner.. when they get the idea they don't get nice meals if they spend money of tat it usually works better.. they need something physical and tangible they can see which is why cards and paypal don't work for men! It is like a small chld thinking you can get money out of the cash machine unaware that you have to have money in to start with.. but hitting them in the beer and food dept. usually works!
:rotfl: Yeah he had beans on toast last night, he actually likes it so that's not much punishment :rotfl:
Think i just managed to surprise him anyway when I asked him how much the bills are and he reckoned he knew as he files them all away. When asked what the car insurance was he said 'about 25 quid' - my reply, £42.75 .... he nearly jumped through the roof. Demanded to know how long we'd been paying that month. Erm, since renewal last year, and that was the cheapest we could get. MrsS 1 - MrS 0Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

MrsS-My OH has no idea about finances.I think he thinks that im joking when I tell him I have 2 more decent wages then me and bubs will rely on him 100% for money. We are going away this coming weekend (staying with friends at their cottage and they wont take any money so no big expense there ) so when we come back and he is nice and chilled out Im going to sit down with notepad and calculator and show him why buying his lunch everyday when Im on maternity is not happening. Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Then he'd get jacket potato and cheese or scrambled egg and toast..
Luckily we don't have to pay the car insurance as it is a motobility vehicle for the girls.. but it was £600 for th etiny ford focus last year!
My house insurance is £65 a month and the cheapest by a long long way.. the most expensive quote we got was over £1000 A MONTH!!!! We barely get that as a monthly income!
My OH spends about £200 a year on regular stuff for himself.. he has a comic subscription and his WoW account.. so while he is a PITA in some ways at least he doesn't try to bankrupt me! lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

It's just so frustrating - he's not stupid about money, he's a fully qualified AAT Technician :rotfl: but he just doesn't seem to have any sense of urgency to repay his mountain of debt. I think it's because when he was working he was well able to finance it. Now he's a student and has no income, it's only me working. I've always had a 'whats mine is yours and whats yours in mine' approach to our finances which is why I want it gone. It's such a burden on our monthly budget. I think he is just of the opinion that I'm so good at managing the budget each month and making sure things get paid, and we seem to be able to afford everything 'easily' that there must not be anything to worry about. The only reason everything is afforded is because I budget to death - I'm a bit OCD about it and even have next year's budget already set up on my spreadsheet:rotfl:

added alamaya and baby Olivia and waiting for all our lovely boldies to give us good news and birth stories
Any newbies/transferees introduce yourselves and I'll add you to the list
viability today :j and have a lovely bouncing/kicking thing inside waiting for its photo op in this afternoon's scan - shall post a piccy when I can tomorrow...
ps got my free nuby pump over the weekend so a reminder to all those with 20week scan photos to share - hope its still on! OH had quite a time pumping various parts of his arm, face and yes his own nipple :rotfl:
We're trying to budget for big ticket items but also a proper guest/sofa bed for when mum and dad come to stay (they say they're getting too creaky for the air bed) I keep having to reign in OH's designer chair/lamp ebay addiction - hopefully as he's started to do research about prams now we'll be able to use his ebay tracking abilities to great effect x
labour vibes to those that want them xxteam yellow

I can't deal with it mostly because I can't bend down but just the sight of it is making me sick
DH said he'll come home at lunch time and sort it but that means waiting until 1pm and I've got a friend over for coffee at 10.30! Having to keep the dog out because she just wants to eat it and the cat () is sitting looking all smug on the sofa! Wish I could find a way to stop him doing this, he's had the snip but if anything that just made him more aggressive!
Haven't got high hopes for today, I'm miserable and hurting and have got mega fat grumps and the house is a total bombsite which is driving me insane! Argh!!
*and breeeeeeathe*
Sorry for the rant, but I feel better for getting it off my chest! Hope everyone else is well and bumps are wriggling
I feel your pain! Our cat came in the other night & whilst I was in the bath he threw up the remains of something all over our bed! To say I was mad would be an understatement as I'd put clean sheets on that day too. Hubby dealt with it luckily but my thoughts on having our cat in are that if the weather is ok he should be out. I don't mind him being in when it rains but generally he is a pain in the bum once the weather gets nice. He wants to go out from 3am onwards as the bl00dy birds start up & then that means he just wants to be let out & then I'm awake too. Hubby gets woken up by me now & sent to let him out,he will be back in bed & asleep within seconds whilst I'm wide awake for at least an hour. It makes me so cross as I'm not exactly sleeping great at the min. I've told hubby he's not allowed in now as I'm not having him waking me up at all times of the night. He keeps leaving me dead animals here there & everywhere too but outside. I found a pigeon the other day! :eek:Our 1st baby is due 29th December 2007! :rudolf:
I'm hopeful that this get's me out of cooking Christmas dinner!
Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:0
