Winnie I thought I may have a few problems to deal with as my big boy was 9 and had always been an only child but in the end it all worked out really well. :D. He didn't want his baby brother to have his own bedroom but wanted him to share his so that he didn't get lonely or scared on his own and he is and always has been super protective with the little guy to the extent where I have pointed out that he survived his early years with me as his mum and his little brother would be fine too! :rotfl:

Aww I had to give my 10 year old "baby boy" some reassurance the other day... he's been very used to having me all to himself especially after his dad left. He didn't really mind when I met DH (mainly because DH came complete with Xbox I suspect lol) but I think its dawning on him that when Bob arrives he's gonna have to share mummy...

PMSL.. OH came complete with Xbox, PS2, N64 and a whole array of geeky games... My boys didn't object either!!

    Silly things boys!

P.S I meant to add that I have my first stretch mark.Totally gutted as my bump is so small , still wearing some non maternity clothes. But its tight as a drum and I now have a nice thick purple stretch mark near where I had belly button peirced. It is so deep there was blood on it. Was sobbing my heart out on Saturday night when I found it as ive been smothering myself in oil every morning and night without fail but I guess its just one of those things.
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Thats so sweet!! We've had to split one of our double bedrooms in half so the kids could have a room each - DS insisted on going to the builders merchant to check that the insulation would be sound proof :rotfl:

    Easily pleased aren't they!

*wonders whether the new Fifa game might make up for mummy having her hands full* :D

Awww .... I remember feeling like that with #3. I got no stretch marks on my stomach at all with #1 or #2 (just thighs and a few on my boobs) then all of a sudden with a few weeks to go, I got 3 on my bikini line. I was gutted. I religiously smothered myself with stretch mark cream with #1 and #2 and then I didn't bother with #3 so I will always blame that. I'm not bothered in the slightest whether I get any more now .... I bought a big thing of bio oil but it's too greasy so I've not bothered using it routinely (total waste of money, I know)

They do fade after birth, honestly xxxx

Agh I hate the fact my replacement has started in work! Can't sneak on here in the day time now! She seems quite nice but there is no way I can handle 7 weeks sharing my work, there was barely enough for just me!

digitalphase Huge congratulations on the birth of baby Alexander!:j Fantastic weight too!

Wow Sequeena That's a fab haul you got there! :D

puzzledbubbles I have no idea about the lumps but I would make an appointment with your GP anyway. Better to be safe.

Hope your exam went well abby

ddebski Hope you told OH's mate that he looked podgy too :rotfl:

pigpen Im 28 weeks and baby didn't really move a lot until 22 weeks ish. I think I have a lazy one! She's never moving around much when I get scanned either - Im hoping this means she will sleep through the night from day one? Wishful thinking?

Hi Lablover where have you been hiding? Are you off anywhere nice on your hols?
Don't stress about the stretch mark - I think they are hereditary anyway rather than depending how many lotions and potions you use!

Phew epic post - Im tired now, need a nap :D

No, several of mine slept through from day one! Definitely from getting home from the hospital.

This was fast asleep and all curled up at the scan and the nasty woman woke it up so it kicked and sucked its hand and curled up even tighter.. ooh... it might be a hedgehog!!!

  • Saw the midwife today, blood pressure fine, urine sample fine, no swelling etc.

I'm supposed to be 28 weeks (by the dating scan) but i'm measuring at 31 weeks (my original EDD by my LMP).

The baby is lying on my Sciatic nerve causing problems with my right leg which is awkward sometimes.

I've been started on Metformin for my Diabetes today so fingers crossed my sugar levels should stabilise now.
I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Abby hope your exam went ok today!

BCS so glad to hear it's looking good so far, take care and hopefully it will continue that way for you.

My replacement started full time now, so around 6-7 weeks to go depending on whether I choose to finish earlier as I still have 3 weeks holiday to take.
As we are a seasonal business we are getting busier, so there's no way I will be bored, finding it hard to find the time to train her, poor thing :o!

My hips, thighs are sore today and have a bad headache... taken a paramol and going to watch tv and hope it all feels better.

Pregnant brain kicked in and I realised just now that managed to miss our first ante natal class last Thurs, thinking it was this Thurs... doh! So we can only go to the 2nd one this week, so annoyed with myself and my sieve like brain.

    Early night tonight me thinks...

BCS I am so glad that somebody finally seems to be doing what they are supposed to be doing for you care wise :o. Also hope that you make it to the end of pregnancy with just the metformin rather than having to be started on insulin as well. :D
