I got asked again this weekend 'are you sure you've only got one in there?'. That's the 9th person now to think I'm bigger than I should be.
I'm starting to think that when I go for my 20wk scan they'll tell me I've having twins, despite my 12 week clearly showing 1! I have no idea how big or small bumps should be as I thought it was such a personal thing and could depend on a whole host of things. As long as bubs is healthy, it doesn't matter how big I am. And after the birth....well there's always spanx :rotfl:
On the plus side, I did get asked for ID twice at the weekend which has made my day seeing as though I'm 30!0 -

OMG - so glad this isn't just me! I keep being told I'm huge too. I'm really not. I don't understand why people think it's ok to comment of pregnant ladies sizes!!
DH's mate at the weekend said "Jesus!!" when he saw me.He was looking more podgy himself too.
Bah - just think about the miracle growing inside.
xDxFear is temporary, regret is forever.....:happyhear Baby girl born 27th September - 10 days late!! :happyhear0 -
Deb.. you should have told him.. I'd have patted his tum and asked how many he was carrying cos at least you have a reason! Or told him Jesus is your Sunday name
I get huge all of mine so I am sort of used to it.. though this time I appear to be getting more along the lines of 'So soon!?' as Squeak is only little stillLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
People should just keep their opinions to themselves! Everyone carries differently. When I was expecting DS2 I got 'it's going to be a big one' and although he was (9lb 12oz!!) I didn't near to hear it from complete strangers and Tesco checkout staff!!!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

Ditto!! I'm also getting kicked on both sides at the same time which is making me wonder even more!! I'm 18 weeks now, I don't think there is much between us is there? Reassuring if we're both enormous lol!
Was very hard to bite my tongue at the weekend though when my rather obese MIL was calling me fat....erm pot, kettle0 -
I've been trying to get through to the diabetes clinic since 8.30 this morning & the line is either engaged or no one answers.
I don't feel like they are taking it very seriously at all as I really need to start on meds asap as my readings have all been high.
I have an appointment with the midwife this afternoon & i'm hoping she will be able to write me a prescription otherwise all the stress & worry is going to push my blood pressure up. :eek:I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

How rude!
I know what you mean about people feeling it's ok to comment - with me it tends to be the same people though.
One lady at work is a daily commenter of my size - this morning she said 'I swear your getting bigger by the week' - er yes that's generally what happens isn't it?! - I've got another 6 weeks before I meet baby yet so I am hoping she will continue to get bigger.;)
On the other hand some people (again the same ones) tell me I am tiny?! :rotfl:
I think what they mean is that I've not got much bigger this time - just the bump and it is all out front.
In my last 2 pregnancies (especially my first) I gained weight everywhere so all of me was bigger.
Either way it's irritating being commented on all the time so you have my full sympathies.0 -

I'm due about the same time as you and Sandy.. daft question but how much is your moving?
I get a couple of wiggles once every day or 3 and that's about it.. at 13-14 weeks I felt proper kicking and it just doesn't move.. it is bizarre.. my last one was hopping about like a flea by now!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

lol! - in my experience it is usually the overweight people that tend to comment the most - perhaps it makes them feel better about their own body image - who knows?!
I also got a pat on the bump from one of the mums at a party I dropped DD at yesterday - it actually hurt quite a bit - Baby is getting bigger and is very near the surface - quite sore! - I did say ouch but she didn't seem to register - silly c*w :mad:0 -
Deb and svsandy - that's so annoying and rude! Trying to put a positive spin on it....erm...maybe they're surprised to see you with a bump when they're used to seeing you all trim.
My carrycot has just arrived. Want to play with it but not in front of everyone at work so it's gone straight in the boot until I'm at home.
My back is sore and aching today. Pretty sure it's because I was away at the weekend so spent hours in the car and didn't sleep in my own bed. Maybe a bath and a sit on my gym ball later will help.0
