Yeah I am Apricot , but my mum has bought a cot for bubs and has asked if she could help out by having over night stays ( errmm let me see about that..... YES !) So we would need one we could take there.Plus bedroom as at the back of my flat (very large hall) and I cant hear anything from my living room , its at the other end and is totally cut off from rest of the flat
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

We've got some cheap bog standard fisher price one for about a fiver - it works fine. DS moves i hear it....I dont see the point in the webcam/motion sensor/themomator/csi style ones tbh just a good way of making more money of paranoid parents lol.

the first few days and nights you wont leave their side guaranteed so you dont need one then.

Although be warned they can and do pick up other baby monitors we had an issue with a neighbours kid crying and we could hear it on our monitor thought we were going mad until they said they could hear us too lol
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

This is a really good birth plan, I think I might pinch some of it just 'cause I'm too lazy to do my own :p:D There are lots of things I don't want either but I think you do have to keep an open mind and be sensible and aware of any scenario. I doubt however they will ask about a birth plan, they didn't the last time!

The main indication on my birth plan is NO NEEDLES AT ALL :o I've put - no epidural, no pethidine, canular to be covered at all times, c section to be done under general, vit K orally etc etc etc. And DH know the drill too. MW has put it in my notes as well in big, underlined letters (twice) 'Needle Phobia' I can't risk not being able to bond with sproglet.

Other than that, I think I'm fairly flexible ;)

Right, cinnamon biscuits are in the oven. Yummy.

Baby is still in tummy and having a ginormous fidget. Am having a few pains, but I can't tell if they're 'period type pains' or not, as my normal period pains involve me not being able to walk. If it gets to that point I would guess it's labour :D
If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:

EA I'm dissapointed, if you need help reckon I could manage 3...

Ooh that reminds me, are you meant to take first morning wee to midwife or will it matter, didn't have a pot (forgot mine in my bag for about a week and couldn't bring myself to re use it!!). Maybe I should wait for those donuts till afterwards :)

ladies - Oh has his interview on weds.....should he mention that im due to have baby or just leave it do you reckon? I dont know if you can have pat leave if only just started there but I really want him home with me for the birth and few days after

To be entitled to Ordinary Paternity Leave he needs to have been employed for 26 weeks by the 15th week before the EDD so he wouldn't qualify for this if he starts working there, but hopefully they would be flexible enough to honour some time off as if it was a holiday already booked. I wouldn't mention it until offered the job though.
He is only taking a week anyway, taking the 2nd week a month later

Is that Company Paternity Leave? As with the Ordinary leave (with the Statutory Paternity Pay) you can't take 2 seperate weeks, you can only take one week in total or two weeks togather, not two seperate weeks. The company won't be able to pay 2 seperate weeks of SPP but if it's company paternity leave and pay they can do what they like there.

Just watched OBEM, makes me so emotional, can't wait for my baby now. Definately want to put on my birth polan NO FORCEPS! Did you see how hard they were pulling that baby out?

Have been thinking about hiring/buying a tens machine, as although i want a water birth, there is a chance that i won't get one, with their only being 1 pool at the hospital. Someone posted a link on the old thread for hiring at a cost of about £20, anyone know which company it was? Or can anyone recomment where to buy one at a good price, will go have a look on ebay now.
