Luckily she didn't decorate the nursery!! But a friend of a friend was told boy, decorated the nursery in blue, got lots of blue clothes etc and out popped a girl! I don't think they get it wrong very often and they say some boys are very obviously boys so am sure you will be ok Mrsspendalot!

Must be a real shock when that happens! I have a friend who was told it was girl, but it was a boy. I wonder how often they get it wrong?

I don't know how I'll feel if they've got it wrong, although the sonographer did get an excellent view from 2 angles and there was definitely something there, and we both saw it too! She was very giggly about the fact it was so, erm, obvious :rotfl: She said she was in no doubt what she had seen, so if it's a girl I'm worried! :rotfl:

On a practical level though, what would you do?!! I've bought all blue nursery stuff and have washed it all ready. I suppose you'd have to ebay it and recoup some money that way. What a thought!!

lol! - I know :o - my stuff would have to go to ebay - there's no way I could put a boy in it - though I've not washed it yet!

I think they are more likely to mistake a girl for a boy as boys bit's could be hiding where as if they see boys bits then they can be a bit more certain (I think)

With DS and DD they got it right and this baby feels so much more girl to me (also pregnancy symptoms wise fits with girl for me)
I will ask again though next week to try and double check there is no hidden willy! ;)

I'm hoping so too. I actually really wanted a girl to start with so I'd have 2 of each, but now I know I'm having a boy I'm all geared up for another boy. I can't imagine him being a her now.

Girls bits also swell with the high level of hormones flying about and can be mistaken for boy bits.

That's what I would have thought too. I know with my other boys I didn't find out, but with the 2nd one, the sonographer said 'if you don't want to know the sex, look away now' which led me to think there must be something to see ... so I kind of had it in mind all the way through that it would be a boy, and he was. My symptoms are very much like I had with my other boys too, although initially they weren't so much.

I think that's the thing. Most of us don't mind what we have but if we are told one sex and it turns out to be the other that can be quite hard to deal with. Another reason for me to have a surprise I'm thinking!

    Afternoon Ladies

We had our scan this morning and it looks like we are Team Pink :j I'm so excited as i wanted another little girl. OH had tears in his eyes afterwards.

We have to go back for another scan in 2 weeks as they couldnt see all of the heart chambers due to baby being in an awkward position, as soon as we have had this and they have double checked the sex then i can start spending!!!
Due 26th July, team yellow :D

I still really am not fussed at all what gender this baby is same as I wasn't with my boys my most pressing concerns are for their health and well being but I have just always liked being able to refer to my baby as he or she as it seems more personal than baby. :o:)
