Ps OMG at that childcare bill Debs! We're lucky that my MIL and own mum should be helping is out so hopefully they won't let us down because we certainly can't afford those prices or for me to give up work!

Gosh all this talk of getting tge gender wrong has scared me a bit! Everything we have is blue or definitely boyish so I hope they got it right! We're doing our nursery in blue too!

Our actual nursery room is painted neutral, so that's not really a problem, but all the bedding etc is blue and boyish (and so cute :D). I haven't untagged or washed any of his clothes yet - they're all in the wardrobe. The pram is my original Silver Cross that I've had for the other 3, so that is fine for boy or girl. His baby bath is blue too.

IF he came out minus his little boy bits, it would be a case of ebaying his bedding etc and buying pink. I already had my pink nursery bedding picked out when I didn't know what I was having, so I'd have to just indulge then :rotfl:

I love all this nursery talk! Sadly we can't have one yet as in order to get baby in our room we need to have our wardrobes in the spare room, not entirely sure how it's all going to work out but we'll fit her in somewhere.

Share your nursery pics if you have any!

  • I spoke to my Midwife today who also seemed surprised that I hadn't been referred to the Diabetes clinic & got them to ring me for an appointment.

My fasting level was 5.5 & the other one (can't remember what she called it:o) was 11.5 which is apparently quite high so she managed to get me an appointment for tomorrow.

Tomorrow's appointment is to teach me how to test my blood sugar levels then I have a growth scan booked for Wednesday, then a 3 hour appointment at the Diabetes clinic for Thursday.

I'd imagine that the growth scan will determine how they are going to treat me whether by diet, tablets or insulin.

Blimey i'm going to be busy. :rotfl:
I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Haven't taken any pics yet as even though we've bought everything, it's not finished .... but as soon as I do I'll post :D

We need to get a curtain pole so we can hang the curtains etc. too

To start with he will be in a moses basket in with us anyway, but this is the first time I've ever been able to have a nursery from birth so I'm rather excited :D

Our baby will be in our bedroom in her crib for probably the first six months so even although I have ordered her nursery furniture she won't actually be using it a while. :o. And I still can't find any bedding sets that I like for her cot that meets with her older brothers approval :rotfl:

Awwww we went for this http://www.next.co.uk/shopping/homeware/nursery/5 for the baby, but if he was a she we were going to have this http://www.next.co.uk/shopping/homeware/nursery/4/

The kids approved of both sets :D

I am so glad that at least your midwife had the sense to take immediate action BCS. :). Your scan will check babys growth and also check that everything is ok with both placenta and cord as these are areas more prone to problems with diabetic mothers. One thing I would advise before your appointment though is to find a quick absorbing non oily moisturizer/hand cream as the constant testing takes it's toll on the skin on the sides of your fingers! :o. You will probably also be seen by a dietician to discuss meal planning. :)

I have the Little Chickie set for the cot. I want it all though, it's gorgeous! OH wasn't too impressed that baby's bedding cost more than ours!:rotfl:
