Childcare costs are scary aren't they? That's one of the reasons why we decided to have a baby now rather than wait a year or 2. OH is a student, but studies from home through OU (at the rate of a full time student, 120 CAT points per year) so he doubles up as a SAHD and as such we have no childcare costs whilst I go to work.

I'm thinking of asking to go back to work term time only afterwards, so I will always have the school holidays off with the kids, as that will be expensive in the future when we are both working.

I was thinking of doing the same Mrs Spendalot - at present my childcare costs are just afterschool club and school holiday care but with the baby I will likely use the same nursery as I did for DS and DD which isn't cheap and they don't operate term time only.

tbh haven't even thought about arrangements for returning to work yet - we don't have a financial need at the minute so going to wait until closer to the time.

Ouch! That's a lot ddebski. My SIL lives about 10 miles away and pays £800 a month so I'm guessing about the same here. I remember a friend of mine being quoted £1500 a month for her little ones. Don't think she earned that so there really was no point!

Great news on all the scans :T I just had to find out the gender buy must admit I'm slightly envious of those of you in team yellow.

I used to pay just under 2K per month for both of mine full time (but that was over 3 years ago so costs have likely risen considerably since then)

Oh dear. My skin is so sensitive at the moment. My bra is scratching me, labels on clothes are scratchy, waistbands itching, body moisturiser seems to have caused red spots down the sides of my tummy and on back and b 00 bs. Woe is me! Could be so much worse I suppose and I feel bad for complaining. I need a pick me up, so....

For me with this pregnancy it's definately feeling my baby moving and getting excited (and kind of dreading both at the same time) meeting her!

The fact that my hubby loves my bump & he is rather gutted that very soon it is going to be gone. I would like to think I will go back to having the washboard stomach of a teenager but I'll admit it will be more of a mummy tummy for a while anyway :o I also love feeling the little one moving around! It's amazing!

Now then ladies...Any tips for bringing on labour? And don't any of you dare say having sex! Lol!
Our 1st baby is due 29th December 2007! :rudolf:
I'm hopeful that this get's me out of cooking Christmas dinner!

Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:

Mine has to be that it's twins. :) I don't have sensitive skin Twilight, but everything's itching me. In maternity trousers at 9 weeks- and I'm a size 8 normally!
Oh no wait, just thought of another one- my partner's running around making sure I'm 'comfortable' all the time (may as well take advantage!).... He's making dinner most nights, as really, the smell of it is bleugh. And he's a far better cook than I am (slightly depressing- my recipes are either nice looking or nice tasting, and sometimes resemble the pic in the book. His- textbook perfect.)

Hi girlies. Congrats on team pink missy!

Gosh all this talk of getting tge gender wrong has scared me a bit! Everything we have is blue or definitely boyish so I hope they got it right! We're doing our nursery in blue too!

I had the 25 week check today and everything is as it should be. I can't wait!!! I know I have to and I'd be mortified if he came too early I'm just so excited!

    Fingers crossed for Teenie!

Sorry Abbey I'd be no help with your essay - far too brainy for me!
