Pigpen I don't usually comment too much on other peoples relationships except where I have something positive to say but are you happy with the level of support that your OH is giving at the moment?

Hi Everyone, me and Carter are doing really well, night feeds are a nightmare but oh well. Alot of people are talking about how to start labour off. I was 2 days over and a friend of mine who does reflexology told me to get my partner to massage the back of my big toes on the fleshy parts. My waters broke 3 and a half hours later, this could be a coincidence but worth a try. I also took raspberry leaf tablets for about a month and dialated very quicky, was 8cm on my first examination which made the labour quicker. Good luck everyone X x0

Sorry to hear your OH isn't being helpful Pigpen.
Good to hear you are getting on well SarahJane - can't stand people touching my feet so might have to gove that one a miss hehe.
My pains from earlier have gone as I thought.0 -

Not at all.. and I have tried telling him and it goes in one ear and out of the other.. I don't think he realises how bad things are going to get if he doesn't start helping more.
I don't ask for a lot really.. vacuuming once a week if that, cleaning rabbits litter tray (it is really heavy) and lifting wash baskets about mainly.. I asked him to do dinner a couple of weeks ago when I was exhausted and after he came to ask what he should cook for to 200th time I just did it myself. He doesn't do anything without being nagged and I won't nag.. his mother does enough for the 3 of us!
I have spoken to DS1 and DD1 too who are both quite able to help and they don't do anything either.
Makes me sad that they don't think I am important enough to help.. though they will find themselves doing everything if I end up as bad as last time!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Wendz I'm a reflexologist (well I was) you can do the same stuff on your hands. Try pressing the centre of your thumb. You can circle slowly, pressing hard for a few minutes. It's meant to be linked to the pituitary glad which releases oxytocin.
I've been doing it myself today and yesterday and nothings happened though. But I'm only 38 weeks so it's worth a go if your further on.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

Hi all,
Congrats to Keith and Dipsy! Lovely names and glad you are all ok, sorry Keith to hear about midwife, try not to let it get to you though now your little bundle has arrived safe and well.
PigPen so sorry to hear about OH, it seems as if he's acting immature - how polite are you being when you ask him - I mean does it need one big proper talk? It must be so frustrating for you and painful when you are having to do stuff and worry if you will need to be doing it next time too.
My OH hadn't been with it in terms of DIY etc really but thankfully last week or two he's really getting into it and finishing things that we need to get sorted, I was lucky I didn't have to get to The Talk stage and get stressed - though I may be speaking too soon if it's just a burst... so I'll keep quiet!
Wendz and other boldies sending labour vibes your way!
Sarahjane I love the name Carter too, hope all is well for you x
Went on the hunt for nappy changing bags today but not much of interest and horiffied at the prices. In Mothercare however I was advised that you can get an insulated bottle warmer on it's own, then pop it in any bag. This means I could choose any roomy bag I liked, as long as it could hold nappies, toy, bottle warmer, and a few other bits like mobile/keys/snacks for me etc in pockets. I like that idea much more and wondered if anyone else had thought about this as a) it's cheaper and b) allows so much more flexibility.:):)

I'm sure Lablover decided to use a normal big bag. I remember her looking at them anyway.
I've used the Boots freebie for my last 2 and will again. I think it looks ok and it fits everything I need. And it's free so very :money::santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Thanks Nic might be able to get one. I haven't had any info from the Boots Parenting club since registering.... called them up and they said it was because I had opted out of marketing! I said that was to refuse junk mail, not official stuff like all the Parenting vouchers etc... So I will prob hav eto wait a few weeks, and not even sure if I will get a free bag, hmm, might have missed the boat! x

I said I have been told not to do various things including lifting/bending/carrying etc and need you to help.. yeah yeah just ask and I'll do it.. 20 minutes later I am STILL waiting.. I'm not the most patient of people but I do usually say.. I am going to fiddle with laundry could you lift basket in a bit.. then 10 minutes later I call and ask for help... then 20 minutes later he hasn't moved.. he usually comes through just as I've finished doing whatever job it was.. then he says 'I was coming to help' and I say 'I wanted it doing today I have other stuff to do, like vacuuming or loading the dishwasher' .. he says nothing and walks away.. it is quite infuriating!
I don't do subtle or implication it is all very straight to the point.
This is why I was hoping the physio would tell him what I wasn't to do I thought it might go in if someone else told him.. but that won't be happening now
Glad your DIY is getting done.. I was fitting carpets and decorating at 4 months pg with Squeak!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
