Yep it is pretty crap!! My DH is having to take it as hols as he would be losing far too much money over the 2 weeks and we just couldn't afford it.

We have already looked into this, and I couldnt believe it either how little they get for paternity pay. We have decided to put a bit of money away to tide us over during this time.

Not sure if it will be of any use to you at all GB but I got quite a few yesterday from Mothercare as their Moses basket/crib sheets are part of their buy 1 get 1 free bedding range. They are also doing their blankets buy 1 get one half price :) they are not the cheapest ones out there by any means but they do wash and dry really well so not too bad really :D

Thanks Koala - will check Mothercare out on Saturday - as you say not the cheapest but work out pretty good on buy one get one free ;)

I think its 260l or 280l? one of those anyways lol I have 3 at the moment did have 5 but 2 died, they are amazing! they are geting big now! they dont really need much looking after my OH does a part water change every few months and I clean the filter/pump and glass every few weeks :)

They're deffo a talking point when people come to visit lol

    xx

Oh right, how come you don't partial change of water every week? It would be better to do a water change weekly, then clean the filter every couple of months. You would notice a difference in growth rate of them then! From what I have seen of them, they seem quite shy in smaller groups. They are stunning though.

Paternity leave pay is rubbish. We're hoping we can manage if OH has a week off, but no way we can afford him yo have the two weeks off. It's horrible. My mum will come over for a week to help as well if needed.

  • Just out of interest, I know someone who is having their 4th baby. She isnt living with the other 3 and this one has a different dad. She had the £500 grant with the others but will she get it with this one? Or is it only after the new rule came in and your first baby after that? Not sure I make sense :o

not as sweet as 15 week one but actual ultrasound was brilliant... got to see a gorgeous portrait and baby was babbling away at us - opening its mouth as if it was talking when it got prodded. Sonographer was really professional - didn't let gender slip at all and when we got down lower baby had legs crossed so was cooperating with mummy in keeping the surprise and not tempting me so...

If you're still there TeenieD can you update me on the list - don't think its necessary to repost just yet....

It does mean that we've still got to trawl through all names... will probably stay 'Rex' now and forever even if it is a little girl.

I was surprised at how fidgety baby was in there, tumbling around and giving my bladder a good kicking - I can hardly feel anything myself... yet! plus it was all curled up, amazing how its feet were nearly by its head at some points

hope all are well and new mummies are getting cuddles soon...

ps has anyone else had to have a smear test during pregnancy? I had a bit of a scare with spotting on the weekend and now placenta has been found high and safe I've been told that I have to have a test sooner rather than later... :(
still at least baby is happy and healthy and bang on all the growth lines xx
    team yellow :)
Can't wait to meet you now baby!

They are quite territorial, they go through stages of fighting each other but then can be quite peaceful for a while. There is no way OH will water change one a week, he says he doenst have time and there is no way I will do it! lol they are quite big and i've had one of them for nearly 5 years, they are much easier to keep than normal tropical fish :)

No if her other children are under 16 she won't be entitled to it.

On a similar note I checked out the entitled to website yesterday and it seems that we will be entitled to a big fat nothing! Great!

lol! nor us - we will get child benefit for baby until 2013 or whenever it is the government plan to get rid of it for households with incomes over the threshold.
