Wend, I know, how scary! i have resigned myself to the fact that by the end of the month I will be holidng my wee man.

Can I just ask people's opinions on something. OH's sisters have told me to ring them/text them when I go into labour and they will come down (OH's parents have booked a week holiday next week - thats a different rant), but being honest I dont want them there. I'm texting my mum to let her know, but she isnt coming down unless I have to stay in. I just want in to be me and my OH. Do you think its bad if I text everyone once I'm out of hospital and at home? x

  • Good luck today Alfalfa!!! You'll be absolutely fantastic. One thing i've learnt the last couple of weeks after having two internals is that some things can be really embarrassing. And painful! (not that i'm comparing an internal to giving birth at all lol but it is pretty painful when you have undiagnosed thrush too!). But you shed your tears, deal with the pain and come out of it thinking... it'll all be worth it!

You'll be having mummy cuddles soon and no matter if your labour is long or swift... you're still going to be besotted with your little bundle of joy. Last hurdle hun. Hold on to them thoughts!!! xxx

Vroom - I've said no visitors at the hospital. After a C Section i'll not be up to it so i've just told everyone love ya... but ya can wait until i'm out lol. A pic will suffice until then! These are special moments you can't get back so if you want it to be just you and hubby, put your foot down now. :)

thanks Charlie:D my mum is cool with it, she can't even look at a paper cut without vomming, so she'd be no good to me in a delivery room! x

Vroom - I'm not having any visitors at hospital unless I have to stay in for any reason. My Mum is happy to come up whenever we say she can. Just tell them that you want to have some time alone with the baby first or say that the hospital only allows one person with you or something?

Thanks Bella, yes I am rhesus negative, didn't think about that so thanks for reminding me!

Did anyone watch the programme on breastfeeding on bbc3? Was quite interesting but a bit scary as well. There was a young girl who did brilliantly after being in loads of pain first few weeks and kept at it.

Yeah, thought it was good. Certainly looked painful though! I was feeling more confident after my breastfeeding one-to-one a couple of weeks ago, but bit nervous now. Still determined to give it a shot though.

Morning ladies and bumps! Hope you're all well!

Well today is the day I get induced and although I'm over the moon to be finally meeting my baby I've had an awful nights sleep worrying about what's going to happen. I know the midwife said because of my pelvic arch (I think that's what she said) and getting induced it'll be more painful but seeing as this is my first baby I don't know what 'normal' pain is! I'm slightly freaked out and spent the past day feeling very weepy and a bit scared. My mam and sister both rang me last night and all I did was cry down the phone to them whilst they reassured me that I'll be ok and it's perfectly normal to feel like this. I think it's just the fear of not knowing what to expect and all I keep thinking is that I'm going to embarrass myself! What if I poo?! Argh!

Anyway, mini moan over. I'm not usually a wuss but I think everything has just hit me all at once. I can't settle down and just want to go to hospital now instead of waiting until later!

I can understand you being nervous hun, I would be too, but remember they will look after you and know exactly what they are doing. You'll soon be enjoying mummy cuddles and it will all be worth it. Good luck xx

Cant remember dimensions properly- think it's something like 5ft x4ftx4ft.... It's my partners- I acquired a liking for fish when I met him. (The grumpy mutts are mine, so we compromise!) Gravel base with a couple of big rocks and couple of small plastic plants so babies can hide. Real plants turned out to be a pain, continually cleaning them. Have fighting fish (he preens all day at himself), several variations of guppys and gouramis, neons, cardinals, minnows, mickey mouse platys, mollies, and one with huge eyes that's black- I can't remember the breed. They seem to get along okay- had a few problems with scissortails hassling some of the smaller ones in the past.
Tank was built for the house, and rests on 2 inch polysyrene block, with veneer around to hide it. Big tank very easy to look after- we don't need to clean frequently, a few big cleans a year. Mainly just time-consuming! Two Eheim external filters are in a box beside the tank. Red lights as well as standard. Have a few goldfish in a separate tank also.

Nice dimensions! I'm disappointed you don't have any big fish in there though :D Cichlids are my thing, I also have a tank with a Siamese fighting fish and another tank with mainly Rainbowfish in. I have an Eheim on my medium tank, good filter. Got 2 FX5's on the biggest tank though, nothing else would cut it with such messy fish. Your tank must stay very clean with little fish in such a large tank :D

That's what we want to do too - get a custom build tank when we own. I'd like a 10ft long, ideally 3ft width and 2ft high. Got a 2.5ft high at the moment and that's just a bit too high to clean easily, 2ft better.

Congrats on 39 weeks VB and Ice :cool::cool:
  • Morning ladies.

Didnt sleep very well. Never do when husband has a night shift. Luckily theyre only once every 3 weeks though! Dont know how I would cope if it was more often. Baby kept me awake, first time ever with that lol, he kept moving around low down like he was trying to escape or breakdance his way out! Then he just kept hitting my side, was like feeling a heartbeat lol the tinker! Then the dog woke me up 3 times in 2 hours! Wanted his ball from the other room.. uh dog its 3am lol. Woke up near enough every hour so Im a bit tired today. Oh well, 2 days work this week and then I only have 2 weeks left :D cant wait!

We are starting to have some stress about finances. Husband doesnt like seeing his bank account going down (lol) but he bought the cot set and we have had a few meals out which doesnt help when you take people who cant afford to pay so you pay.. it knocks the money quite a bit really. He also has his driving lessons which should be over soon as he has his test in May. Just going to have to go easy I think from now. He is worrying because he has 2 weeks paternity leave booked which means he wont get his full wage so it will hurt a little but we should be ok, I hope! Im sure everyone stresses about these and lots of other issues before baby arrives!

I have red bellied piranha's in my tank :) I love em!

Vroom - Dont feel bad about not wanting visitors, its you and OH's time :) theres plently of time for the rest of them, get the labour out the way then see how you feel, I was in for 5 days after last time so we staggered the visitors but I dont think i'd want visitors while i'm in labour, thats just strange lol

Think that's maybe what my partner likes- easy clean. :) Because it's quite deep, it is a pain to clean- I'd prefer shallower and longer.

Congrats VB and Ice as well- not long now.
