No I dont know why they are. But to be honest they havent made a deal out of it so I assumed this was the norm. Im getting the GTT but only because my mum had gestinational diabetes. My BMI is 20 at the minute according to my maternity notes so its not low , its just normal.Never mind, going out for a meal 2moro with my OH and another couple , cant wait !! Its to a restuarant Ive never been to so im excited ( how sad when your 23 and this is what excites you ,lol) Also going to the rugby on Sat afternoon , to watch my sisters partner , we are only going to watch a bit then nip off to local tea room and then pop back toward the end of the game :D Me and my sis are really into coffee shops at the minute (when did I turn into my gran, lol) And in other news , my sister brought up the subject of a baby shower on Monday so looks like im getting one , yay! Altho after she mentioned it there was some huffing from my mum because she had wanted to plan one , lol
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Actually on the subject of Boots Parenting club - I am a member and I noticed in store there was something about a free changing bag? - looked quite nice - think you may have had to purchase nappies or something to get it.
I recieve the parenting club emails etc...but anyone know what I have to do to get the bag?

There should have been a voucher in your welcome pack when you got it and you buy a pack of pampers and get the bag free....it's not a bad bag either lol

Can anyone remember when this is?
I don't recall any measuring going on with my other 2 but then again my memory is carp :o

Just looked at my maternity notes and I'm down to see the midwife at 28, 34 and 36 weeks - (hoping to have planned c section at 38)
I think it was twenty something weeks.

  • GB - They start measuring from 25 weeks I think

RBG - I could very well be queue jumping Im afraid, all the signs are getting more frequent and consequently more painful. Im hoping that as this is my 2nd I'll just sneeze and it'll fly out lol. Altho in all seriousness as soon as things kick off properly we'll have to get our bums to hospital as DD was a rather fast labour and birth. Believe me I want to hang as long as poss, supposed to be having my driving test next week, at 37 weeks spot on lol

  • Hello all

I've just stumbled on this thread by accident and thought I would post to say hi!

I am due baby #4 on 2nd July, so currently 18wks + 6 days. I'm signed off work for 4 weeks at the moment as I have developed SPD :( I had this in my last pregnancy for the last 10 weeks, but I'm extremely fed up it has come back so much earlier this time.

I have my scan on 14th Feb which is very exciting. I'm not going to find out the sex of the baby because hubby really doesn't want to know. I do, but at the same time I want the surprise! I have 1 girl and 2 boys already (10, 7 and 4) so am hoping for a girl to even out the gender balance!

We have made a start on the nursery room which is now empty and waiting for furniture etc.

I imagine it can be if you are extreme but presumably it is better to monitor to see if there is a problem (e.g. by scans/measuring etc.) than to measure weight to see if there may be a problem. Also, I imagine in the US they are probably more interested in monitoring weight as apparently it is normal that the doctor would weigh you any time you visit.

Glad I'm not in the States then!:rotfl:

There's a voucher in the first mailing they send. I managed to miss my voucher the first time so I signed OH up and got another one.

Welcome to the thread mrsspendalot....we're a nutty bunch on here so if you are feeling down come along and let us know and someone will say something to make you giggle....we will also give you lots of advice too and you can rant and cry or do whatever....am not saying its the right advice though as I would tend to garble my way through, not sure about everyone else though :P also ask any questions you want be they what you think of as daft as someone will have an answer for you

will get you added to the EDD list too :)
