People keep saying that Susan ( that my weight wont be monitored) but Ive been weighed at every appointment , and its been written in my notes ( ive had double the amount of recommended appointments due to my fertility problems) and they also have been measuring my tummy. Altho at the last appointment the midwife said my measurements were fine. Im just worrying about nothing , lol In the next few weeks I will be on here moaning that Ive put on a stone and ive got a massive bump.:D

I was weighed up until my 16 week appointment and then she didn't bother - my next appointment with the midwife is 28 weeks so guessing she wasn't that concerned - I wouldn't worry about the weight LabLover ;) - in my experience it's different for everyone

    Oooh new thread!

Sorry not been on in a while, this pregnancy lark is taking it out of me. Have been lurking though.

Congrats to those with babies, RBG - I want to know who else has popped!!

Flower - Hope things are moving for you today and you'll get your mummy cuddles soon, if youre not having them already of course! Oooh, is this has popped RBG??

Giz - Sorry to hear youre having a rough time with your rabbit, hope he/she feels better soon. And as for you, try and rest if you can!

Re weight - not a clue how much Ive put on but Im bigger this time around than I was with DD, saying that though my old stretch marks having only just started having a pinkish tinge to them and I dont appear to have any new ones.

As for me, hmm, Im ok. Bubs is causing quite a bit of pain to be honest, the head is so far down its unreal. Still very 'wet' when I wipe, midwife says baby is getting ready to come, thankgod is all I say. Am also very tired but that could be due to DD coming in and asking for a tissue for her snotty nose at 2am, then coming in and asking for a drink at 3am and then deciding that 4am was the best time to lie bed singing at the top of her voice, had to go and tell her to shut up lol.

Quick Q for those who are going to bottle feed, how far in advance are you buying your formula? I cant for the life of me remember when I bought it for DD.

Have they told you why they're weighing and measuring you all the time? I was given extra growth scans last time because of my low BMI (although actually it was the >5% weightloss which was a risk factor for IUGR) but they weren't weighing/measuring me all the time. I was weighed once to check I wasn't losing weight because I was still being sick and I just got measured from whenever is standard.

    Hi dueMarch

I am planning on trying to breastfeed this time but with my other 2 think I had a few ready made cartoons in just in case and one tin of formula so didn't really buy any in advance - having said that everywhere near me sells it.

LMAO nope not Flower...she was on yesterday saying she wasn't having mummy cuddles yet...unless bubs has appeared overnight that is :P

And there'll be no queue jumping from you lol....Hitchins and I want to go before you :P coz believe you me with the size of my tree trunks and the pain from the SPD I am just about over this pregnancy lark, lol....tried to go up around to the local retail park which is a measly 10 minutes walk away and with the pain in my hip even with my sexy belt on and the fact I was being harried along by the wind I decided against it, lol......I want to be normal again!!!!!!

I don't recall any measuring going on with my other 2 but then again my memory is carp :o

Just looked at my maternity notes and I'm down to see the midwife at 28, 34 and 36 weeks - (hoping to have planned c section at 38)

I've read that - but I've also read that if you gain too little weight or too much it can be bad for baby - conflicting info?!
I imagine it can be if you are extreme but presumably it is better to monitor to see if there is a problem (e.g. by scans/measuring etc.) than to measure weight to see if there may be a problem. Also, I imagine in the US they are probably more interested in monitoring weight as apparently it is normal that the doctor would weigh you any time you visit.

    Hello ladies and lumps......

I have missed so much we've moved and everything!!! lol

Well I woke up so much last night that I may have well just stayed up all night lol.

Wake up 1 was ds coming running nto our room (*first time hes ever got up in the night) coz he had a scary dream!!! bless him! Anyway soon became apparent why there was bloody police helicopter so low and loud. took him back to bed and then noone could get to sleep because of bloomin noise!!! then the foxes that live in next doors wasteland (garden) were having a fight and making the most annoying freaky noise!!!

Then the wind picked up to hurricane level and started knocking loads of stuff around outside.

Then I woke up 4 times with cramp in my legs!!!! so sore!!!

this morn ds came in to get me and i couldnt even move as had cramp in both legs at same time I couldnt walk nothing!! - legs still tender and hip killing so muct have slept funny?!

Anyone know any cure for cramps or why I might be getting so many
Im thinking low sodium/potassium levels so ive been trying to eat bananas as i know they can help but has anyone else got any suggestions.

mother coming tonight.....so now is not the time to be incapaitated I need to be at full strength to survive lol luckily oh is coming home earlier to help hoover the last bits.

ds is not looking like he will stay awake for long either.

Ive only got 8 more weekends till baby arrives YAY!!!
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
