Also related to this, has anyone had a naval piercing and what happens to the hole - had one in my teens but took it out 6 years ago (probably tmi but had to get rid of it when I got entangled in OH's pants :rotfl:) I'm worried that it will stretch to high heaven... using lots of vit E oil at the moment but not sure if this will be enough
I had a piercing too, but took it out at my 20 week scan, and just never put it back in again. It hasn't really stretched, just closed into a slit, and there is redness surrounding it. My belly button hasn't popped 'yet' but doesn't look too sexy :rotfl: Haven't got any stretch marks 'yet' but appreciate there is still time. Have been using Bio Oil and a collagen boosting butter since I found out I was pregnant. Worse case scenario it has helped with itchy belly syndrome :rotfl:
I feel so sick today, dunno why. Finished off some pesto hummous I had yesterday with some crackers. Then later had a milkshake. Then felt very odd so went upstairs and threw upWent downstairs for a while, drank most of a bottle of water, then thought I was going to be sick again and went upstairs and was, but didn't have anything to bring up
Still feel sick now. Had some Gaviscon and some polo mints, but won't attempt eating anything else for a while. Urgh. Hate days like this.
The weather is gorgeous though, and Sky has now been installed, so some positives for the day.Hello All, Havent been around for ages but wanted to post the news anyway
my baby Tyler was born on 6th April weighing in at a rather respectable 10lb 3oz!! - cant say I was expecting that neither was any of the mw's lol.
Anyway short birth story - idnt get my home birth - Contractions started in Morning went to hosp at 12.30 who confirmed still only 2cm went for lunch and chill out in the sun returned back to hosp at about 5.30 when a bit more painful got into a room about 7.30pm pains thick and strong so asked for Gas and air midwife told me she'd check my dilation in 2 hours as she wanted me to move rooms - moved into a different room, needed to push (3 times) and at 8.46pm out he came lol
Was difficult in the last bits due to his size and my size (being the small person I am) but we are now home and healthy
Thanks to all the support ive received from you lot xxxxx
Congratulations hun, that is a big baby indeed x0 -
Think its just in my employee's T&C's:mad:
I havent been offered a GTT, do I need one? x:j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0 -
GTT is a glucose tolerance test where they give you an amount of sugar usually in the form of lucozade and then check that your body is processing it properly by measuring your blood sugar level. It is the most common way to test for gestational diabetes.
It is one test that I will always manage to avoid having to have though as I am already diabetic.0 -

My work pay you on top of your SMP for doing a KIT day. Definately wouldn't do any in your case Vroom!0

Payment for KIT days
You and the employee should agree on how much you will pay her for a KIT day - this could be set out in her contract of employment or you may decide on a discretionary, case-by-case basis.
If the employee is receiving statutory maternity pay (SMP) when she works a KIT day, you must continue to pay her SMP for that week.
The employee can work under her contract of service for the employer paying her SMP for up to ten days (KIT days) during her maternity pay period without losing any SMP.

Random question, does anyone know if I worked 8 hrs per week whilst on maternity leave it would affect my maternity pay? (only asking as OH's cousin is opening a new pub in June and has offered me 8 hrs a week if I want to do it)
From www.direct.gov.uk

If you start work with a new employer
If you start work with a new employer before your baby is born your SMP is not affected.
If you start work with a new employer after your baby is born (if you work for an employer who did not employ you in the 15th week before the week your baby was due) your SMP must stop. You must tell the employer paying you SMP.0 -
I've got 4 KIT days booked for whilst i'm off. May be a bit different for me because i'm Self Employed and a large part of doing them is to help out the company. But there is no way in hell i'd do it for free! Leave my baby to go and work for nothing?! Absolutely not! LOL!Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110
