This is probably a really stupid question- what do you all mean by 14+2, 38+1 etc?

    14 weeks and 2 days, 38 weeks and 1 day ....

I was 27 weeks pregnant last Saturday, so I am currently 27 full weeks and 5 days into my pregnancy (or in my 28th week, depending how you want to look at it). It's shortened down to 27+5 for simplicity, but this is also how midwives will write it down too. Hope that makes sense!x

Flower I get scanned a lot more frequently than usual and was also during my previous 2 pregnancies due to an underlying health condition. My last one was done on Tuesday this week at 28 weeks and there will be quite a few more before delivery. It is just to check mainly that baby is growing and developing normally. :D

Has anyone else had to have extra scans along the way?

I had a hospital apointment (am 14+2 today) and they decided that because my blood pressure has been low and apparently I have a low BMI they want to me to have two extra scans at 28 weeks and 34 weeks. She said it was nothing to worry about, but now she said that I'm worrying :o

I've had 5 scans so far and am almost 28 weeks, have 2 more scheduled before my due date.

They couldn't do a nuchal (?sp) scan at my 12 week appointment so had to have the triple blood test which apparently showed my hcg hormone was way too high for 16 weeks. I was called in for a scan the next day and told it could indicate placenta problems or growth problems with the baby and that I would have to have regular monitoring scans.

At first I was petrified by this and it put a little bit of a dampner on seeing the baby on the scans because I was so worried something would be wrong, but so far the scans have not seen any issues so I can relax a bit more and enjoy all the extra scan pictures we get!

It can be scary but just need to remember it's better for the Drs to take extra precautions, than miss something that could have consequences.

Evening bumptons! Haven't been on for a couple of days and am too lazy to read back the dozen or so pages so forgive me for not knowing what's going on - I see PC's had her bubs though, congrats!

Blimey I've raced up that list - quite sure that Creature will be late though so not planning on queue jumping anyone :D Still, only 11 days til due date

Congratulations and welcome to new bumps, appropriate vibes to all. Hope you're all well. Just enjoying my tea and toast and then off to bed - I'm sick of alternating between can't sleep at all or falling asleep if I sit down for longer than 5 minutes!! Obviously this is the latter... :p

Hope everyone has a good night's sleep. Sweet dreams! xxx

    Morning ladies

I've been MIA for the last few days as my mum and dad arrived for a surprise visit. They gave me a couple hours warning, so it was a mad tidy up.it was great to see them and the kids were surprised when they walked in

Nothing much happening with me. Im 37 weeks. I'm starting to find it difficult to get up and down as I feel heavy. I've felt the muscle/tendon at the bottom of my bump pulling when I get up wrong.

I still don't want the baby to come for another 2weeks though , so I'm not trying any curries etc yet lol.

I'm off to read back and see who's bold. Labour vibes to those who are.

ETA: just read backwards, congratulations PC, love the picture. Glad your both well.

    Morning,

Hope the surprise visit was good Nic, bet the kids loved it!

Not much news here. Bump still comfy where she is. Might take a walk up the big hill this morning as need to take my friends birthday pressie to post office, plus the walk might do some good hehe.

    Morning Ladies,

Have been feeling awful this morning, its much more like it was at 8 weeks with sickness, light headed, tired and generally bleurgh - i am off to London for work at 11 and am working from home before i go so am currently sat in the OH's big comfy dressing gown and munching on a massive bowl of cereal to give me some energy.

Hope everyone is well and that the Boldies have cuddles soon :)

Bet the suprise visit was lovely Nic, Cuterby, hope you managed a good nights sleep :)

Hello hope everybody is doing well today. :D.

Went as planned yEsterday and bought some furniture for babys bedroom as well as a gorgeous crib for the first few months. :). I am convinced tho that my sister enjoyed it far more than I did! :rotfl: I was offered a seat and a drink in the shop as I was a bit out of breath and looked pale....I had to tell the poor woman that I actually was not actually that bad compared to how I normally end up after walking a few yards! :o. Curses low haemoglobin level!

Fun agenda for today includes some food shopping and a trip to home base...the fun just keeps on coming my way! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
