Gorgeous baby boy born 7/7/110 -
Congrats to GFH on Baby Thomas :j I'm so pleased that you didn't have to be induced. I'm so pleased that you got your lovely homebirth and I'm so pleased that you have a baby boy to add to your brood
Are you still going to use the pink and orange Quinny???
My only comment on last night's drama is remember Martin's mantra - "Be nice to all moneysavers". That goes for everyone - even pregnant, hormonal ladies lol.
On a complete random side note - can I suggest that when sorting out baby's clothes, I would def recommend getting some newborn sized stuff in. I have loads of 0-3 month clothes for Esme, but I haven't even looked at them yet as the newborn stuff is still too big. And she's 2 weeks old tomorrow. So we're stil wearing the newborn stuff and I can't see it changing for at least a couple of weeks!
Oh, and if you can get the sleepsuits with the fold over scratch mitts - do! They are a lifesaver if you end up with a scratchy baby like mine! I have sleepsuits from Sainsbugs and Next with these mitts - so highly recommend!
Labour vibes to the boldies, and I hope everyone is keeping well. I miss you guys x0 -
Might get my sheets from there as well . Will I need two stretchy (fitted sheets ) and then two top sheets ? Or Do we not need top sheets? Ive got a cellular blanket and 2 crochet blankets , and also a sleeping bag thing (its a summer tog rating )
I brought 4 fitted sheets for my cot (they were sold in packs of 2 at Ikea) and I already have some cellular cot blankets (only things I kept from DS and DD)
I may get a few more bits of cot bedding - from what I remember ending up changing bottom fitted sheets a fair bit.
I wouldn't bother with top sheets if you have blankets personally but see how it goes0 -
Thank goodness normal service has resumed and we can get back to the important business of sending me labour vibes :rotfl:Had my consultant appointment today, they wouldn't give me a sweep as I'm not overdue yet
They also said baby is still only 2/5 engaged so probably wouldn't help anyway, its totally pathetic but I nearly started crying, had a really carpy nights sleep and I was so convinced that she would be fully engaged as it felt 'different'.
If it makes you feel any better I am only 1/5 engagedvroombroom wrote: »I've put just under 4 stone on:eek::eek:
I put on 5.5 stone with my first (I started very small) lost 2.5-3 stone, I have now gained 3 stone with this pregnancy so I am back where I started.
Can I please have urgent opinions on swaddling blankets, a friend had recommended getting one, I used to wrap DD in a blanket swaddling style as she would startle herself awake but she would always wriggle out . My friend has used a proper one like this

Has anyone used one? I'd need to order today as I'm getting induced Mon/TuesAKA: PC

Where did you get cellular blankets from? I felt some in Mothercare and they felt really stiff and hard so I didn't get any. Or is that the point of them? Are they supposed to be? I know that sounds really daft coming from a mum of nearly 4, but I had softer blankets given to me for the others, or hand-knitted. This time I'm buying from scratch.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Thanks for the advice Sammy, I was worrying that I've got the newborn clothes and that they wouldn't get worn but that has put my mind at rest. MW measured her at 36cm today (i'm 39+1) so will be interesting to see if that gives any indication on how big she'll be, how is the lovely Esme?:)£2000/£9000=22.2%0 -
17+3 here and have put on about 12lbs already. It upsets me that my figure is changing (it's nearly all gone on my thighs/hips/belly) but I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I eat hearty meals and am eating a lot more meat and veg than I normally would. I usually live on pasta and noodles. I was starting to get fed up with my weight before I found out I was pregnant and was going to join slimming world the very week I got a BFP. I'm just going with the flow now and waitin until after the birth to worry about it. Can't wait to start running again.
Looking forward to hearing about all the scans this afternoon.0 -
Sorry, me again
I just wanted to send labour vibes to PC. If it's any consolation I was only 1/5 engaged before I went into labour and then things happened really fast.
RE the swaddling blankets. My DD def sleeps better when she is swaddled. At the moment I just use a small cellular blanket and swaddle her tightly and that seems to contain her. My sister recommened getting the Miracle Blanket - which I did, from Amazon, but I can't get it to work as well! She's going to show me how to use it tomorrow, but she swears by it, and she has a very fidgety 12 week old!0 -
