Had the sweep and even though it wasn't the most delightful experience of my life it literally took 5 seconds! Midwife wasn't my usual one but she was lovely, reminded me of my mam!
Baby has moved aroundd a bit but is still not in an ideal position. Midwife said no problems whatsoever, head is 3/5 engaged and if I still haven't gone into labour by 11th April they'll do another sweep before starting an induction. Fingers crossed baby decides to start moving soon!
I'm starting to wonder how big my baby will be. Bump is small and in the past week I've had 2 people ask me how many months I have left only to be gobsmacked when I say I'm full term. Even though it is small it's solid and all baby so you never know, I might end up with a 10lb baby by the time he it she makes an appearance!0 -

PC I bought both of these (that was the one I got from Argos for about £5), the swaddlepod looks much easier to use as there's less flaps etc, but as I havn't had any practise yet I can't really comment£2000/£9000=22.2%0 -

Keeping fingers crossed for you Alfalfa, I've had the same reaction with bump, me and DH went to a leaving do last night and when a girl asked how far along I was and I said 39weeks, she actually got a bit panicky that I might go into labour there and then! When will you know if the sweep is successful? Sorry you can tell I'm a first timer!£2000/£9000=22.2%0 -
Well, I had a very yummy McDonalds, but seeing everyone talking about KFC, I now want one :rotfl:
I got a couple of moses basket cellular blankets from Sainsburys a few months ago and they were only £3 each-think it was when they had a baby event thingy on.
On the sleeping bags-neither of my boys liked them so I don't think i'll bother this time round-I used to just put them in the fleecy sleepsuits from Primark that are about £3 each, they kept them warm enough!!
And also what sammy said about newborn clothes-just watch for the size of the feet int hem-both my boys were quite tiny, but had MASSIVE feet that didn't fit into the newborn grows, so I used to put them in the footless ones with some socks-i've made sure i've got both types for this one just in case!!0 -

Nom nom...I had a maccy d's breakfast earlier, soooo nice!
A bit early maybe but I'd like to be organised and I don't think I'll want to be shopping around with a newborn, but has anyone found any good deals on birth announcements? Vistaprint seem to average at around £4 for 10 but I'd like to buy more than this and not spend a fortune x£2000/£9000=22.2%0 -
I think I saw free birth announcement cards/ emails on the Huggies website.
I have the basic Grobag thermometers which you get in the packets, not the egg, but I have heard that they are really good little angel. I have a thermometer on the monitor too. Hope your sickness goes soon - mine lasted until about your stage this time and then slowly went away.0 -

We have the britax shr one with isofix base.. It has been great but.. it is heavy, the handle for carrying isn't quite in the right place.. but it is only carried to and from the car so not bad really. It had the best reviews for safety in the which report when we checked about a year ago. IT doesn't last long with long babies though. She is almost 8 months and almost at the top of the seat.. we are looking at a hugely expensive replacement to keep her rearfacing until she is about 4 as it is much much safer for toddler than forward facing.

We are so happy and pleased we decided to find out in the end. At one point I didn't think the sonographer would be able to tell and I was really disappointed but she persevered and then it was obvious :rotfl:. Plus all is well and bubs is really healthy with all its bits and pieces in the right place.
Can't wait to hear how the others have got on xx
Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0
