Thanks - that's me too :rotfl:
Blimey haven't logged on since about 4.30pm yesterday afternoon and was a bit confused I just had to go back 6 pages to find out what's gone one!!
Well anyway, its my 20 week scan this afternoon too and I'm really excited. After 20 weeks of promising we weren't going to find out we decided last night we are just too impatient so hopefully I'll have some more news for you all later.
Good luck for the other 2 scans today xxLeo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0 -
Hello
. Hope everybody is doing well today and all those with scans get good news I was a complete nervous wreck before my 20 week scan to the extent that I didn't even notice that my name was called! Thankfully it was being done by one of my named consultants who recognized me! :rotfl: I was exactly the same with both of my boys too though as I am a bit of a worrier.
.
In response to what ddebski said I too am totally thrilled to be pregnant with our very much wanted third child even although I have a few health issues that result in my pregnancies being what most would refer to as complicated. I feel privileged though to be able to be pregnant when so many struggle to do the same and can easily put aside my complications as being totally worth it and truthfully a bit trivial when I look at my 2 wonderful sons and think of our beautiful daughter who is due to join our family in June.0 -
Dipsy- I have the midwife coming to the house tomorrow morning to try and do a sweep, even though I know it's going to be unpleasant I'm hoping it'll be successful. How uncomfortable was her attempt? I think I'm getting s bit nervous about it, not because of the actual sweep but because i'll be at home! I know it sounds daft but I don't think I'd find the whole thing as undignified if it was going to happen in a clinical environment! I know, I'm an idiot!
Hi Alfafa - just started reading back as was offline last night. It was uncomfortable, but she couldn't get to my cervix (I knew she would have bother as I can never have a normal smear and always have to go to the hospital for them as they can never find it - it hides!) She said she couldn't get past the baby's head to get to it, which confused the hell out of me and now I think this baby must be coming out of a different orifice!!!
The beginning bit was uncomfortable but didn't hurt and I felt so much better about it when I forced myself to relax (I know it is easier said than done). The sweep bit obviuously didn't get done, but the MW said it would only take seconds. Hope it goes well for you today - think of your lovely little baby x x x0 -
Well done GFH , going to read your birth story in a mo. Good luck for all the scans today. Hope we have some more team yellows , Im biased off course
The closer it gets the more im interested to know what baby looks like , me and my OH are polar opposites , Im tallish for being a female, have blonde hair , pale skin and freckles. OH is short for being a bloke (5ft8 ) He has a very thick thatch of dark hair , olive skin and very square facial features. So will baby be blonde ( I was bald untill I was about 2 and a half
) or will it have thatch of thick hair? As the head starts crowing im going to get OH to shout up to me what his/her hair is like , lol
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Doglover - good luck for the scan today.
GFH - congrats on the arrival of baby Thomas - birth story sounded great!!
Sorry I've not been on for a while ladies, can't be doing with how the thread is becoming almost dominated with whinging about how awful children can be and how rubbish being pregnant is. I for one feel blessed to be pregnant, shame we're not all here for the same reason.
Anyway, 15+6 for me today - bump is forming nicely and I have my 16 week M/W appointment on Monday. Finally another milestone to tick off!!
xDx
i'd been wondering what had happened to youi don't post much here either, i find it hard being relatively early on in pregnancy, things tend to get over looked, it also can make the later stages seem rather daunting for a first timer.
for me, i seem to have strained a muscle in my lower abdo yesterday, kicking a tennis ball for the dog  me thinks i won't be doing that again and i'll be sticking to my pathetic girlie throw from now on.
forgot to say this yesterday, GFH - congratulations, glad you got to have your home birth xx0 -
Little Angel-Ive found that everything seems to pull or stretch much more intensely(sp) when your pregnant. I went over on my ankle about 5 weeks ago and Im still in pain. Evrything loosens up and its really easy to cause damage. I dont understant how those celebs can wear massive high heels during pregnancy? Ive been in flats since about 16 weeks , lolThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

I'm sat round waiting for the midwife to come, feel a bit yuk today as had a bad nights sleep (hips were aching so bad!) so just want her to hurry up so it can be over and done with and I can go back to bed!
Hopefully it'll all be straight forward and will kickstart labour. Like you say, all I need is to think of my lovely baby that I will soon meet. I am prepared to go through anything to make sure my baby gets here safely!x0 -
I'm with you ladies on the pulling and stretching........I tried to turn over in bed last night and felt like someone stabbed me!! Although I think mine is made worse by my previous c-section scar, as that is where most of the pulling and stabbing pains happen!! I had been so good at sitting myself up to turn myself over as well......must have forgot in my half asleep state-I wasn't half asleep for long after that though lol :rotfl:
Good luck for all those having scans today!!0 -

no nor do i, i also don't understand how they stay so skinny as well?!
yeah, i was aware ligaments loosen, but until now i didn't realise that because of that it's easier to do our selves a damage. luckily my tum isn't too bad, it just pulls slightly when i stand up or cough or sneeze. hope your ankle stops hurting soon.0 -
I am too with you on the pain in bed Alfalfa. SPD is horrendous now and I have never been this preggers before, so it could get a lot more uncomfortable! I should be grateful though, as I can still 'just' walk this time. I was in a wheelchair from 6 months with DS.
DH has taken DS to school today so I am going to try a nap just incase things get started today. I hope the sweep goes well for you Alfalfa - let us know how it goes. Keep telling yourself it will be over really quickly x x0
