I WANT a C-section- i'm hoping I can convince the consultant on my next appointment! I just feel like, you know, cut me some slack-i'm tried it TWICE and both times it didn't work, and the thought of things going the way they did the other times terrifies me-to the point some nights i can't sleep as it's just going round and round in my head. it's not labour and birth that are the problem, just the thought of things going how they did before. Theres a girl I know, who has 1 child and when she was pregnant, she went and said she was too frightened to give birth and she got a c-section.
I mean, i've experienced it, and have valid reasons ( i feel) for my fears-i think i've given it a decent shot!
But, yes, the most important thing is that bubs gets here safe and sound, and that is the only thing that stops me having a panic attack at the thought of giving birth!!!
Anyway, thats my rant over!!! although it didn't actually have anything to do with anything anyone else was talking about really-just needed to get it off my chest lol0 -

I live in Teesside, where abouts are you? The midwife has said that the most they'll let me go over is 13 days but that they may advise a bit earlier if needed. I have a midwife coming to my house on Friday which will be one day over my due date and she said they're going to offer me a sweep but now I've realised they don't usually offer that until one week over so I think she won't do it until the week after. Or maybe she'll still offer it? I'm not sure!
Fingers crossed I could be a mam in time for mothers day! When's the Royal Wedding? Last weekend of April? Here's hoping you'll be a mam in time to.watch that!x0 -
:Din SUnderland, so you're not too far from me
the wedding is the 29th but I dont think it would go down too well if I asked to be induced cos I wanted to watch it haha.I'm seeing my MW on Thurs so will ask her what the possibilities are....
labour vibes to you the for next weekend! x what a lovely mam's day present that would be xx:j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0 -
Bit of a simplification perhaps? Hundreds of inductions are done every day without incident.
Nope, statistically, you are more likely to have an emergency C section if induction is tried.
Of course lots, most inductions are done without any problem, incuding mine with DD1.
So I have called hosp and said I *might* need someone out later. They have given me shedloads about not having enough staff. I have refrained from saying "I have been expecting this baby for 38 weeks that we know about and it doesn't exactly come as a surprise" and just used the broken record technique and stayed very calm.
I think something may happen tonight.
eta voombroom can you not watch it during???Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

Hopefully the midwife will be a Royal family fan too and will agree to let u be induced for it! Haha! Imagine you telling your baby in years to come that their birthday is 28th April because their mam wanted to be at home in time to see Wills and Kate tie the knot!x0 -
haha i dont want him out just to watch that. I havent had the easiest pregnancy and the thought of being pregnant longer than I have to fills me with dread.:j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0

ever since finding out I was pregnant, DH has said bubs will come on 29th april-even before they had set the date!! and i'm not even due until 22nd may lol but ds 1 was 2 weeks early and ds 2 was 3 1/2 weeks early, so who knows! I did tell him though that if i was 'busy' that day he had to sky + it for me so I can nosey at the dress :rotfl:0

It's 10 days over without exception, you go in on the evening of the 9th day for pessaries then in the morning (day 10) you get the drip. I'm really torn about induction as with DD it was so fast and unbelievably painful, I got to 10cm in 1 hour then pushed for 40 mins it was such a shock to my body. If I was to decline induction for a few days longer and go naturally I could have a mammoth labour. What's better quick agony or slow torture?I live in Teesside, where abouts are you? HI all,
I havent read back but just have a quick question - OH and I are not sure if its Taboo or not or if its something we are bad people for thinking and were wondering what you lovely ladies and bumps think.
Basically, is there any reason (other than the added distance to walk) that we cannot put bean (once they arrive) in their cot in their room from day one?
Is there a reason why we should be keeping them in our room with us?
Like i say, we arent sure if this is something we arent supposed to ask so please dont shout at meYou can shout at OH though lol :P

Hi all,
Had a lovely day today with my baby shower. We made a nice buffet and played some games including guessing baby photos of people and a music quiz with songs with baby in! We also did a bit of micheal jackson on the wii and singstar.
Got a few lovely pressies and the rest of my friends are giving me them when baby has arrived bless them!
We did a guess of weight and date baby will arrive so we will see which of my friends is closest.
Vroom - lets hope we both have babies before royal wedding.0
