Can you have it that late Apricot , cause they do the triple blood test for downs and ive forgotten the other two and it needs to be done at a certain time. It may be up untill 19 weeks , or I may be talking out my bottom, lol xx
I have to go to the hospital for my triple test this Friday lablover - im not sure why but the midwife doesn't do it here! Hopefully having it that late won't be a problem but I will check in my handbook thingy when I get home to see if anything else is checked at 16 weeks.I was looking forward to her finding the heartbeat!

If anyone is planning on buying the cotton cellular blankets from Mothercare, get them now and peg them on the line in this wind to blow the fluff off. I got 2 yesterday and bunged em in the wash along with 2 items of bedding. They've shed fluff all over the inside of the washing machine and all over the bedding  Not impressed to be honest.
So now I've had to put the bedding through again and hope that the fluff rinses out. I hope that the blankets have finished shedding fluff as I don't want to have to hoover it off sproglet. If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:0 -
Thats fine Apricot , I was sure that your triple test had to be done no later than a certain date and I think 19 weeks is too late. So good job your getting it done this week. Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Congrats Giz!!! What a beautiful name! Hope you're ok. I know what it's like to have to have blood transfusions after birth and it can be quite draining. Get the orange juice down ya hun! xx
Terrible nights sleep here too for me. Had my GTT this morning along with Growth scan (bubs is just about on the lower mark of where they like them to be so phew to that!) and i've been booked in for C Section for 28th April! Sunroof eviction time!!!
Feel really rubbish today as i've been poked, prodded and i'm all bruised! But when you hear about Amanda Holden I can't help feeling lucky with it all no matter what issues you may have.
Big hugs all round xxBeautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110 -
Congratulations Giz! What a lovely name and glad you got your water birth.
Apricot - I have to book all my appoitnments about 4 weeks in advance as they get so booked up! I didn't have bloods at 16 weeks but i has the nuchal scan and bloods. My next bloods were at 28 weeks.
I think my MIL is the opposite to everyone elses. She is lovely but I don't even know if she will come up here to meet baby. She is one of these people that barely ever leaves her town and she lives an hour and a half away. She has never come to our flat where as my Mum comes and visits quite often, she lives same distance away. Sounds like it might be for the best though!0 -
Hello Everyone!!
Huge Congrats GIZ what a lovely name glad everything went well but booo that youve had to have a transfusion = hope you get home soon. Hugs xx
Well my scan went well and baby is absoloutley fine, they seem to think that she is just lazy. We got to see her face and everything, was lovely and yet more crying from Mr Sharkey - god knows what he'll be like when she finally graces us with her presence.lol. They have estimated her weight at 6pounds 7, so thats good and also they think she is going to be quite long. Very relived that everything is ok but it was amazing to see her all fully formed, we havent seen her since 20 weeks and it has now made me regret not going for the 3d/4d scan a little earlier.
Had to order a new tumble drier today as my other one went on fire over the weekend so that comes on Thursday and Tomorrow DH and I are going to Ikea to buy another chest of drawers and a changing unit for bubs room and that will be it completely finished (will post piccies once everything is built up) Gonna get the rest of the house all cleaned up today and we are gonna have the roast that I was planning to make yesterday but couldnt coz I was at the hospital.lol.
Hope everyone else is ok today. xxxx[/COLOR] Starting the new year in a good way cooking baby sharkeybabe no2:j:j0
