Puzzled sorry to hear about your consultant being so off - eat what you know is good for you when you can, treat yourself sometimes, and try to remember that we're all in the same boat as to cravings and having good and bad days... what does he know!

RBG hi and good to hear from you, sounds like he's a lovely bundle, enjoy!

PigPen I have been really wanting Muller Rice for around a month now and eating around 3 a week - now I won't be able to look at them the same way again... Still have 3 at home and will get more this weekend on the Tesco deal if that's the best deal...
For anyone that likes them, there's a yummy custard one if you can find it!

As to the 23 week old baby and that programme that was on recently about whether they should be premitted to get ongoing treatment to stay alive, I found that very hard to watch. I was born at 24 weeks myself and fortunately I am healthy and have no problems, but so many don't have this luck. That week between 23-24 really really makes a difference. Any parent that has to live through that panic is on such a knife edge. I really want to get past the 24 week stage now myself, I mean I don't think bubs will take after me that way (!) but it will be a relief. I don't think the narrator of the programme was very sensitive, I know it's an issue of cost and stats, but felt it was hard for the parents to make the decision on their own... plus as a male narrator I guess it was harder for him to relate maybe, anyone would find it hard I guess as it's such a unique situation for a parent to be in.

I'm glad I missed that programme - sounds like difficult viewing :(

Has anyone heard from BBM as to how little Alfred is doing now?

BBM has been poorly, and little Alfred is struggling to gain weight, so worrying times still for them both :( He needs to get big and strong and at least re-gain up to his birth weight to avoid some invasive surgery. Dread to think how hard it must be for BBM :(

Sounds like you've had it really bad PP :( I first started getting twinges around 18 weeks I think, after walking, but as I wasn't aware of SPD, I carried on. Would have stopped the long walks then if I'd known. It really came on from around 22 ish weeks I think. Then has got progressively worse. I can still lift the kettle, and hobble about the house, go up the stairs slowly one at a time etc but am completely useless at doing a lot of things. When I cook dinner and clean the kitchen I need to sit down for ages to recover. But now my sciata plays up when I'm sitting down, so I can't win either way.

I always had it in my mind to have two children, but I am in serious doubt I can do this again. It's been horrendous since about 6 weeks with the constant sickness, the tiredness, the depression, the sciatica, the SPD, the heart burn... Urgh... I keep it in my mind that bubs will be worth it and I know I am lucky to be pregnant, but I have certainly not had an easy pregnancy.

If it helps.. within 24 hours of her being born it was pretty much gone!

I am really creaky and clicky again already and my back is killing.. at about 10/11 weeks.. should be seeing physio in about 4-6 weeks

My SPD cleared up within a very short space of time after birth too - I recall going from not being able to feel or move my own legs at the end stage of labour to sitting on the bed cross legged after he was born. I had the odd niggle in the 5 years between having him and being pregnant this time, but nothing like it is whilst pregnant.

tbh the SPD is scaring me witless.. I'll be spending the full summer holidays unable to move for the second year running!!!

It is awful because it is so debilitating and limiting ... I keep looking outside at the sunshine and feeling guilty I can't take the kids down to the beach for an ice-cream and things that we normally take for granted in the summer. The best they can hope for at the moment is a frozen lolly in the backyard. With the crutches I hope to be able to take them over to the park which is so close I can see it from my bedroom window, yet the walk at the moment feels like a 10 mile hike. Fortunately, and assuming the SPD goes straight after birth again, baby will be here before the summer hols start so we should be able to get out and about with the pram after that.

Last time it was the thought of actually giving birth that scared me witless. I'm not worrying about that this time, as I managed fine last time.

Another disappointing day. Midwife came to the house but couldn't do a sweep as the cervix was closed she will be coming back Monday to try again. I'm hoping it changes by Monday as they have booked me in for induction Wedenesday.

I can't do crutches as i have RSI in my wrists and arthritis in my hands.. lucky me! I spent last summer standing i think.. it hurt too much to go from standing to sitting and i'd invariably need a wee the minute I got comfy
