Morning all
Just got back from the MW. Talked to her about the pain I had yesterday and the amount of braxton hicks I'm getting and basically it's normal as I've had multiple babies and everything is earlier and more painful the more you haveShe said the afterpains this time would be awful too
Got my MATB1 and I'm back to see her in 3 weeks for bloods, and then my anti-d appointment the week after. Didn't talk about induction today - I think I'll leave it a bit closer to the time and see how I feel then.
Everything else fine and dandy .... just need to invent a time machine now to fast forward a few weeksOlympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

How many babies have you had MrsS? Nice of her to let you know how bad the after pains will be. I'm sure you needed that info.0 -
digi/EA.. if it helps.. the baby was born exactly on 37 weeks because I couldn't cope any longer with the spd.. they will do it.. I did refuse to leave the hospital until the consultant saw me and arranged a day to deliver her though.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Don't believe a word of it.. you haven't had as many as me I am sure and the afterpains were actually worst after number 5 .. he was tiny and 2 months early too.
BH etc were never more painful the more I had either.. so unless she has personal experience she is telling you what her book says!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Thanks Digital & Pigpen
I've had 3 babies before this one, but this is my 6th pregnancy. I only got afterpains last time, not with the other 2. They were uncomfortable, but it was the first time I'd breastfed and someone said that breastfeeding can make them worse. MW said it's nothing to do with how you feed. She said that years ago they used to give women who had several babies pethidine after the birth just for the afterpains!!! Told me not to rush out of hospital afterwards, and not to leave without strong painkillers for the pains or I'll really suffer. She said everything is earlier the more you have, like feeling movement, which to be fair I did feel at 12 weeks this time. I only wanted some reassurance that getting period-type pains was not something to worry about at this stage (25+5). they are worse if you breastfeed because the hormones which are produced make the uterus contract.. you know this 'if you bf your body returns to normal faster'... that is what it means.. you interna organs not your outward appearance.

Question for ladies with SPD .....
When you saw you physio and got a belt (if you got one) did they tell you to wear it when sitting, or just when moving around?
MW told me off for not having belt on today at my appointment after 'moaning' I hadn't seen one previously. I said that I couldn't sit in it as it was so uncomfortable, and given that we drove round, and would be sat in the room, I didn't bother putting it on. Plus, my physio said not to wear it sitting around or lying down because of circulation. MW said that I need to wear it sitting down as that is when pelvis is at widest, and walking around isn't really the issue. BUT my pain is on walking, not sitting. She said they must have changed their advice. I'm sure I didn't misunderstand physio advice, and hubby recalls her saying the same too.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015
