Hi everyone, well due date came and went - sun20th - and nothing!! just a quick question if anyone can help me - I have an appointment at antenatal tomorrow as I am now overdue by 3 days and the appointment was booked months ago, last time I saw the midwife she said that I would be offered a sweep with the consultant and to take it - I don't mind as I have had enough now, ramble over- anyway question is - do I put hospital bag in the car just in case or do sweeps take a while to work, would hate to be caught with nothing if a sweep works fast, anyone with previous experience of sweeps?

Just trying to eat something atm. Feel very sick and the hicks are still about but I feel like they are lessening in strength and volume. A bath may very well finish them off so fingers crossed!

Charlie hope you are feeling better too!

Sammy I have also just read your birth story - you poor thing, bet you are relieved now and so happy, try not to think about it soo much as embarassing, after all I would like to think it's the one time in our lives we can do whatever we need to to get through it... enjoy your mummy cuddles lots x

Myfirstbaby - sorry I don't even know what a Sweep is yet?!

Supermaiden - nice one, it's so nice when that happens - OH felt bubs on Sunday for the first time and was so relieved, so was I, it's nice to have someone confirm there's definately something in there he he...
The outfits sounds lovely and hope you get the pram you like, it's so hard choosing isn't it! My mum got us one in the end, the Maclaren Techno XT, still at the office but hoping we can get it home next week maybe to see it in action.
I am glad your GTT went ok, embarassed to say I don't know what it stands for, is it something to do with diabetes?

What's a 'presentation check' - is it just simply abdominal palpitations to check if bubs is head down/engaged? Or does it involve an internal examination?

feeling tum.. internals aren't usually performed at all during pregnancy as it increases risks of infection etc.

Well... i've been working. But I work from home so it's not exactly hectic. A lot of the time i've had my feet up. I just went to do the school run and it feels like my guts are going to fall out.

I don't want to be on my own :(

hope things have settled down. honestly tho thats how i felt on friday. did the childminder walk and they didn't even stop then (think tis an urban myth). was getting realllllyyy worried by 8pm but vowed to give it overnight before panicing and they had gone by the morning.

ouchhh think you passed em onto me :p
I'll try. It's probably as much to do with me feeling so low as it is him feeling he has too much to juggle at the moment. xxx

    hi hun,

hope he's calmed down now... my hubby doesn't work from home,, doesn't have problems and still acts like that!
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Take it with, and some pads of some kind, you may bleed a bit afterwards.
